COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Sun Devil Hockey fell 4-1 to Colorado College in game two of the weekend series on Saturday night at Ed Robson arena.

Arizona State (13-14-1, 6-9-1 NCHC) was unable to find any rhythm as the Sun Devils committed five penalties, which led to Colorado College (11-12-3, 5-8-3 NCHC) outshooting ASU 42-22.

Freshman goaltender Samuel Urban registered 37 saves in the loss. It’s now his eighth game this season with 30-plus saves.

Junior forward Kyle Smolen scored his fourth goal of the season, assisted by senior forward Bennett Schimek. Schimek’s 27th assist of the season is now tied for the most in the NCAA.

Freshman forward Sam Alfano extended his point streak to five games with an assist on Smolen’s goal. Alfano is now the fifth Sun Devil freshman to have a point streak of five games or longer.

The Sun Devils return to Mullett Arena on Friday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. MST and will look to bounce back against No. 20 St. Cloud State. Fans can tune into the action via NCHC.TV with the radio call featuring Tyler Paley and Alex Coil on FOX 910 Phoenix.
