Sand Devils add mid-year transfer McKenna Flaherty

TEMPE – Senior McKenna Flaherty has signed with Sun Devil Beach Volleyball to join the 2026 roster, joining Arizona State after three seasons at Florida State.

Flaherty, originally from Sarasota, Florida, has a 13-7 record in her career. In 2025, she went 9-4 throughout courts 3-5. She was part of FSU teams that made the NCAA Tournament all three seasons, winning at least one dual each postseason trip.

She graduated in December with a bachelor’s in sports management with a minor in business. 

Prior to college, she was a three-sport athlete at Riverview High School where she played indoor volleyball, beach volleyball and softball. She earned all-area honors as an indoor player during her last three seasons. She also finished in second place at the state tournament for beach volleyball on the top court. She was on the honor roll all four years of high school and earned the United States Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award during her senior year.

Her parents are Angela and Mark, and she has one older sister Devyn, who played for Florida State’s softball team from 2020-24. Devyn is currently an assistant coach for FGCU’s softball team.

The 2026 Sun Devil Beach Volleyball season will begin on February 20 at the Canyon Classic at Grand Canyon.
