TEMPE – Sun Devil Gymnastics will hold the annual Maroon and Gold Showcase on Sunday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m. MST in Desert Financial Arena, a free event to preview the 2026 season.
There will be no teams. Arizona State will compete on one event at a time, going in Olympic order. More than six may compete in certain events.
There will be no live stream or live scoring for the public. Along with free admission, parking is free for fans and will be free in lot 59 all season.
The Gym Devils are set to compete in their second season in the Big 12. There are 10 teams on this year’s schedule that qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Arizona State is scheduled for seven away meets, including the Big 12 Championship, and will host five regular-season meets in Tempe. Additionally, Arizona State will host one of the sites for NCAA Regionals and Regional Finals.
Tenth-year head coach Jay Santos and the team will face five teams who finished last season in the top 25, three of which placed in the top 10 of the Road to Nationals rankings: Utah, Florida, and Kentucky. Florida and Utah made it to the 2025 National Championships.
Last season, Arizona State went 10-10 (2-4 Big 12) and qualified for NCAA Regionals for the last eight seasons in a row (counting 2020 when the team would have made it had postseason happened). The Sun Devils, who ended the season at No. 27 on Road to Nationals, ended the regular season with a 196.310 National Qualifying Score (NQS), the eighth season in a row with an NQS over 196.000. The Gym Devils will fill the gaps left by the three fifth years, who earned 22 of the 27 event titles. The team returns half of the routines competed at regionals.
