In addition to ASU’s games, there will also be a pair of neutral-site games in Tempe this weekend. Little Rock will face San Diego (4 p.m. MST) prior to ASU’s game on Saturday. In the last of the four games, San Diego will face SEMO on Sunday at 11 a.m. MST.

Watch/Listen
Saturday’s game can be seen on ESPN+ and heard on KDUS AM 1060 (pregame coverage will start at 6 p.m.). The state of Arizona’s 2010 and 2019 Broadcaster of the Year, Jeff Munn, is in his 22nd season as the voice of ASU WBB.

About ASU’s 7-0 start

  • With seven wins in seven games, Molly Miller’s first ASU squad is approaching the best start in program history. Only the 1990-91 (8-0) and 1991-92 (9-0) teams – both coached by current Sun Devil WBB radio analyst Maura McHugh – opened their respective campaigns with more consecutive wins.
  • If ASU goes unbeaten in non-conference home games, it will own the best start in program history (10-0).
  • For reference, ASU’s best 10-game records in program history are 9-1 (eight times, last in the 2014-15), 8-2 (10 times, last in 2019-20) and 7-3 (11 times, last in 2023-24).
  • ASU entered today’s action as one of six teams still unbeaten in the Big 12: TTU (9-0), ISU and TCU (8-0), ASU & BYU (7-0), UA (5-0)

Did you know, as a head coach, Molly Miller....?

  • Entered the 2025-26 campaign third in winning percentage among active coaches who have served at least five years as a Division I head coach. Miller (84.4 pct/297-55 career record/11 seasons entering 2025-26) trailed only legendary coaches Geno Auriemma (88.3 percent/1,250-165 career record/40 seasons entering 2025-26) and Kim Mulkey (85.9 percent/754-124 in 25 seasons entering 2025-26).
  • Has won her last 37 non-NCAA Tournament games, going back to last season when she was coaching at Grand Canyon University.
  • Has won her last 28 home games going back to the 2023-24 season when she was the head coach at GCU.
  • Won her 300th game as an NCAA head coach on Nov. 13, 2025.

State of play

  • Saturday’s contest will be the third of three home games ASU plays this week and the fourth of six consecutive home games overall. The current stretch of home contests started vs. UNLV on Nov. 22, and will conclude on Dec. 6 when the Sun Devils play San Francisco on the second day of the annual Briann January Classic.
  • Like this weekend, ASU will play two games in two days next weekend when they host the annual Briann January Classic at Mullett Arena (vs. McNeese State on Friday at 6:30 p.m. MST and vs. San Francisco on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. MST.)
  • On Tuesday, Dec. 9, the Sun Devils will be in University Park, Pa., to face Penn State, the first of three straight road games – ASU will also play at Oregon State on Dec. 14 and at Gonzaga on Dec. 16 – they will play to close out the non-conference schedule.
  • ASU will commence Big 12 play on Dec. 21 when it hosts Colorado.

Notes from ASU’s 59-41 win over Little Rock on Friday

  • The Sun Devil women’s basketball team came through with another defensive gem on Friday, allowing the fewest points (14) in a half in nearly four years in a 59-41 win over Little Rock (1-4).
  • In Friday’s win, the Sun Devils recorded new opponent lows this season for points (41), points in a half (14), points in a quarter (5), field goals made (13), field goal percentage (27.1) and 3-point field goal percentage (17.9), while the 21 points Utah Tech scored in the first half were the fewest allowed by ASU in a half this season.
  • Going back to the 2019-20 season, ASU has given up fewer than 41 points only four times in 178 games.
  • Amaya Williams had career highs in points (18) and field goals (eight) to go with four rebounds, three assists and two steals. For Williams, it was her third double-figure scoring effort of the season and her second in as many games after scoring 10 points in Tuesday’s win over Utah Tech.
  • McKinna Brackens scored in double figures for the sixth time in seven games and the fifth game in a row. Brackens, who came into Friday’s game with three straight double-doubles, led ASU in rebounds (six) for the third game in a row.
  • Marley Washenitz scored seven of her nine points in the second quarter to help the Sun Devils to a 23-point second quarter, the most points scored by either team in a quarter. Combined with Williams’ 10 points, the two were responsible for 17 of those 23 points. Washenitz also led the team in steals (three) and tied for the team lead (Williams and Last-Tear Poa) in assists (three).
  • Only one ASU opponent (Santa Clara, 77 points) has scored more than 58 points vs. ASU this season.
  • The last time an opponent scored 14 or fewer points in a half was on Dec. 4, 2021: UTSA scored 13 points in the first half.
  • The Sun Devils have scored 20 or more points in a quarter 11 times this season. Four of those 11 times have come in the second quarter of the last four games (23.5 average).
  • ASU has held the opposition to 13 (52.0 ppg average) or fewer points in a quarter 14 times (10x in first half) this season, including single digits six times (4x in first half).
  • In the last two games, ASU’s opponents, Utah Tech (5-28) and Little Rock (5-17), made only 22 percent (10-45) of their 3-point FG attempts.

Rankings of note

Notes

  • ASU’s bench has outscored the opposition’s reserves five times in six games this season. The bench was especially important in ASU’s win at Santa Clara on Nov. 16 as Last-Tear Poa (14 points, five rebounds and five assists) and Martina Fantini (six points, six rebounds, two assists) combined for 20 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. In ASU’s win over Eastern Washington, returner Jyah LoVett scored 13 points. Amaya Williams scored a career-high 18 points to help ASU’s bench outscore Little Rock’s 28-11.
  • In ASU’s comeback win over Coppin State, Elliott scored 14 of her 16 points and shot 62.5 percent from the floor in the second half. She led ASU’s rally with a team-high eight points in the final quarter. Elliott was every bit as impressive defensively, leading ASU with a game- and career-high seven steals. Elliott led ASU with 15 points in the win over EWU (Nov. 8) and went over the 1,000-point mark for career points. Her six 3-pointers at USD were one short of tying the single-game school record of seven.
  • The Sun Devils are outscoring their opponents by an average of nine points in points off turnovers (20.4-11.4).
  • ASU is outscoring its opponents by nearly six points in second chance points (13.2-7.3).
