#6 Volleyball to face Arizona on Saturday in Tucson

TEMPE – No. 6 Sun Devil Volleyball will travel down to Tucson to face in-state rival Arizona on Saturday night at 6 p.m. MST.

Saturday’s match against the Wildcats will start at 6 p.m. MST at McKale Memorial Center in Tucson, Arizona. The game can be viewed on ESPN+, and live stats are available via Stat Broadcast. Updates will be provided on social media on X (@SunDevilVB) and Instagram (@sundevilvolleyball). 

Sun Devil Outlook
No. 6 Arizona State (16-2, 7-0 Big 12)

  • The Sun Devils picked up two wins on the road last week against No. 19 BYU and Utah, extending their win streak to 10 matches in a row. Arizona State has not lost a Big 12 match this season and has extended the conference winning streak to 23 in a row, dating back to early last season.
  • Arizona State is currently first in the Big 12 conference standings. In the national rankings, ASU moved up one spot to No. 6, the highest ranking under head coach JJ Van Niel and one away from the highest all-time ranking (No. 5). 
  • Graduate middle blocker Colby Neal is this week’s Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week. She is ranked at No. 10 in the nation for blocks per set with 1.48. She also has a total of 90 blocks to lead the team. In the BYU match, Neal reached a career high with 10 blocks. 
  • Two Sun Devils have eclipsed 200 kills on the year: junior opposite Noemie Glover with 205 kills and senior outside hitter Bailey Miller with 204 kills. Glover averages 4.56 kills per set and Miller has an average of 3.19 kills per set. Glover has had double-digit kills in the last seven matches in a row.
  • Arizona State has a four-match winning streak against Arizona. The last meeting was Oct. 24, 2024 in Tucson where the Sun Devils won the match 3-1.

Opponent Outlook
Arizona (11-6, 5-2 Big 12)

  • Arizona is on a three-match winning streak after defeating Houston last week, 3-1. At home this year, the Wildcats are 5-2.
  • Heading into the weekend, Arizona State leads against Arizona 58-56 in the all-time series, dating back to 1973.
  • The last time Arizona beat Arizona State was in Tempe on Nov. 26, 2022, taking the match 3-2.
