TEMPE  – The Sun Devil men’s and women’s swim and dive teams open the 2025-26 season on Friday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. MST at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.

The meet will not be livestreamed, but can be followed on Meet Mobile (with a subscription) as well as the program's social media accounts: Twitter/X (@ASUSwimDive) and Instagram (@Sundevilswimdive).

Friday's duel against the UNLV Rebels is the first of five home meets for the Sun Devils. The next home dual will feature UCLA’s women’s team traveling to Tempe to face ASU’s women’s team on Friday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m.

UNLV swam against ASU to open the 2024 season, when the Sun Devils won 28 events. It’s the second straight season both teams meet under the lights in Tempe. Last season, UNLV’s men won the WAC title for the fifth consecutive season, while its women’s team finished second at the Mountain West Championships.

The Sun Devils are coming off a pair of Big 12 Championships on the men’s and women’s side during their first season in the league. The men’s side had a 6th-place showing at the NCAA Championships last March, and the women placed 19th nationally for their highest finish since 2019. The men’s team has won three straight conference championships, dating back to 2023.

At the Big 12 Championships last season, the Sun Devils took home 31 Big 12 individual titles, which helped hoist both team trophies.

Jonny Kulow represented the United States at the World Aquatic Championships, earning a gold medal in the 4x100 mixed free relay, and also won bronze in the 4x100m free relay this summer. Kulow was named to the national team roster for the second time in his career, and had three podium finishes at the NCAA Championships last March.

Miriam Sheehan and Julia Ullmann are returning All-Americans on the women’s side after being part of multiple relays that earned points at NCAAs in March. Ullmann, the butterfly specialist, represented Switzerland at the FISU World University Games, placing seventh in the 100m fly (59.44) and the 50m fly (26.69). She was also named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and the swimmer of the meet.

Ilya Kharun represented Canada at the World Aquatic Championships this past summer, earning a bronze medal in the 100m fly. Kharun was named Big 12 Swimmer of the Year and had three podium finishes at the NCAA Championships last March

This season, the Sun Devils welcome 24 newcomers, including 15 student-athletes from 10 different countries.

Following Friday's meet, ASU will travel to Tucson on Friday, October 10 for the second annual All-Arizona Invite set for 1 p.m. MST.
