TEMPE – The 2025 Sun Devil Volleyball squad is ready for the new season, bringing several talented student-athletes to add to the returning core of players and help defend the team’s 2024 Big 12 Championship.

2024 Season Recap
The 2024 Big 12 Champions, Arizona State finished the season with a 30-3 record, going 17-1 in Big 12 play. The Sun Devils, who earned a No. 3 seed and hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, advanced to the second round, the second-straight year doing so. ASU hosted tournament matches for the first time since 1995. The conference title was the first Big 12 title across all sports for ASU and the first conference championship in program history. In volleyball, Arizona State is one of four teams in the conference to have won a Big 12 title (also Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State).

All-Time Sun Devil Championships

Home matches were must-see events in Tempe last season. Split between Desert Financial Arena and Mullett Arena, 10 of the 15 home matches had over 3,000 in attendance, with six over 4,000. All six of those 4,000-plus attended matches are ranked in the top 10 for highest-attended matches since 2013. The highest was 4,630 against Arizona on October 9. ASU set program records for total attendance (50,685) and average attendance (3,379). The total attendance was No. 14 in the NCAA and the average attendance was ranked No. 15 in the nation.

Arizona State lost the majority of its typical rotation, with six graduates and one senior having moved on. ASU will return five that played in more than 10 matches, two who played in more than 30 matches.

Preseason Big 12
As a team, Arizona State was picked to finish third in the Big 12 this season. The Sun Devils have two on the preseason team: Sophomore Faith Frame and junior Noemie Glover

Breakdown by Position

Outside Hitters
There are two returning outside hitters: senior Bailey Miller and junior Jillian Neal. Miller played in 27 matches last season, playing primarily on the right side. She totaled 147 kills through the season, the highest number among returners. Neal has played a key role on the team in the past two seasons as a serving specialist. Last year, she led the team with 36 aces. She also saw some time at outside, earning double-doubles in her two starts at outside late in the season.

Four newcomers are joining the outside hitter group. Senior Tatum Parrott is the most experienced of the group, having played three seasons across the valley at Grand Canyon, where she earned All-America Honorable Mention status in 2023. She set the Lopes’ Division I-era record for kills with 1,233 in her career and was on the All-WAC First Team all three years.

Freshmen Ella Lewis, Maéva Schalk and Ceci Vance are new faces on the team as well, all with high experience to bring to the team. Lewis was an all-district player for her high school in The Woodlands, Texas. Schalk has been part of the French volleyball program since 2017 and was an alternate at the 2024 Paris Olympics for the French national team. Finally, Vance was all-state and all-district in Albuquerque, New Mexico in high school.

Opposites
The lone returner on the right side is redshirt freshman Kiylah Presley, who did not play last season.

Bringing in international experience is junior Noemie Glover, a transfer from Oregon. This past July, she played on the USA U21 National Team in the Pan American Cup, winning a gold medal. In her sophomore season, she was a key part of the 2024 Oregon team that advanced to the NCAA Regional Semifinals, notching 263 kills after playing in all 32 matches.

Middle blockers
Redshirt freshman Jadyn Wilgus is the only returning middle on the roster. She did not play in 2024.

Three transfers joined this group: sophomore Zoey Burgess, junior Ella Lomigora and graduate Colby Neal. Burgess played her freshman season at Kansas in 2024, playing in 39 sets. Lomigora played her first two collegiate seasons at Long Beach State, starting all 29 matches in 2024. She had 183 kills (2.27 kills per set) and 112 blocks. Lastly, Neal spent four seasons at Oregon, playing in 68 matches and earning 229 blocks and 237 kills in her career. Her most productive season was this past 2024 year when she played in all 32 matches and helped the Ducks to the NCAA Regional Semifinals.

Setters
Redshirt sophomore Brynn Covell is entering her third season at ASU. In 2024, she made a spot for herself as a defensive specialist, one of five Sun Devils with over 100 digs on the year, ending with 190.

Senior Sydney Henry is the new Sun Devil setter on the roster, having spent her first three seasons at Kansas City. She totaled 2,701 assists, 91 aces, 265 kills and 816 digs in her career so far. Her career high in assists is 56, which she earned in 2023. In her career, she has had 21 matches with more than 40 assists, six with 50-plus.

Liberos
The libero core has the most familiar faces, with three returners: senior Estella Zatechka, sophomore Bella Faria and sophomore Piper Rama

New faces in this group are sophomore Faith Frame and freshman Maila Ribeiro. Frame spent her freshman year at Cincinnati, playing in all 29 matches and totaling 435 digs (4.10 digs/set) and notching double-digit digs in 21 matches. She was named to the 2024 Big 12 All-Rookie Team after earning four Big 12 Rookie of the Week nods. Ribeiro, a native of Brazil, has been a member of Brazil’s junior national team. She was named the best libero for the national championships for both U21 and U19.
