TEMPE – For the third year in a row, graduates Jada Mangahas and Emily White were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Team, representing Sun Devil Gymnastics.
Both Mangahas and White were non-degree seeking graduates in 2025. They graduated with their bachelor’s degrees in May 2024. Mangahas earned a degree in sports science and performance, while White got a degree in biological sciences (biomedical science). They were the first Gym Devils to earn this honor multiple times, adding to the streak with a third in a row. While Jay Santos has been the head coach, there have been eight all-district honors. The first was Anne Kuhm in 2019, who went on to be an academic All-American.
To be nominated for an all-district award, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First- and second-team academic All-America honorees will be announced in late December. The award was previously from CoSIDA, but the organization recently changed the name to College Sports Communicators. For the complete list of honorees, head to CSC's website.
Mangahas had a slow start to the season after coming back from injury, but came back strong to earn a spot on the All-Big 12 Vault Team. She spent the majority of the season competing on vault and bars, eventually adding floor back to her repertoire. She had three 9.900s this season, two on vault and one on bars. In her four floor routines, she did not score below a 9.800. She had three event titles, two on vault and one on bars.
White was a dominant force in 2025. She was named to the All-Big 12 Team in both the all-around and on floor. She earned an all-around score of 39.100 or higher in 10 meets this season. On top of that, the graduate earned a score of 9.900 or higher 11 times this season, with seven of them coming on floor. She led the team in event titles with 14, with four on beam, floor and in the all-around and two more on bars.
