MILWAUKEE– Sun Devil Lacrosse (7-3) will wrap up the second of two road games against Marquette (6-3) on Tuesday, March 25 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The game is slated to start at 10 a.m. AZT, and will be streamed on FloCollege.
Senior goalie Katie Vahle has a chance to solidify herself atop the program's recordbooks against Marquette and needs just five saves to do so. If the senior can notch five or more saves, she'd take the program's all-time save record, which is currently held by Berkeley Bonneau, who tallied 574 saves from 2018-2021.
Tuesday will be the second meeting all-time between the two programs, as the Sun Devils faced Marquette in 2020 and picked up an 18-14 win in Tempe that season.
Sun Devil Outlook:
The Sun Devils reached a program-best five games over .500, but a loss to Dartmouth last week has the team sitting at 7-3. In the loss against the Big Green, ASU tallied the fewest draw controls in a game this season, and also faced their biggest margin of defeat in 2025. In the RPI rankings, Arizona State checked in at No. 29 on March 23. The team has not yet been ranked in the IWLCA Polls.
ASU has a pair of Devils in the NCAA leaderboards, as Jordyn Behar's 37 assists is the third most in the NCAA, and Anna Viglione's 108 draw controls are second in the league. Because of Viglione's dominance, ASU has the fourth most draw controls per game in the NCAA, averaging over 17 per game.
Scouting the Opponent:
Marquette has compiled a 6-3 record in nine games this season, and has matched their 2024 win total (6). They are an impressive 3-1 at home, with their one loss coming to No. 3 Northwestern. Coming into the game, the Golden Eagles hold on to a two game win streak, with wins over Detroit Mercy and Butler.
In 2024, Dartmouth finished 6-11 and was 4-4 at home. They did not see postseason action last season.
