COLORADO– Arizona State Lacrosse (7-6, 2-2) has a pair of games in the Centennial State to open their three-game road slate. The Sun Devils will open their road trip against No. 20 Colorado (8-4, 3-1), and then head 30 miles south to take on No. 13 University of Denver (9-3, 3-0 Big East). This weekend's matchups will mark the sixth and seventh times that the Sun Devils will take on a ranked opponent. ASU is 0-5 on the season taking on a ranked foe, and has not beaten a ranked opponent since April 5, 2022, against No. 16 USC.

The Pac-12 matchup against No. 20 Colorado is slated for Friday, April 12 at 3 p.m. MST and can be viewed on the Pac-12 Network. The final non-conference game of the season for ASU against No. 13 Denver takes place on Sunday, April 14 at 1 p.m. MST and will be streamed on Pioneers All-Access.

Sun Devil Outlook:
Last weekend, ASU took on California and downed the Golden Bears 18-11 after scoring eight goals in the third quarter to pull away with the win. Defensively, Junior Goalkeeper Katie Vahle tallied 12 saves in the win and notched her fourth game with 10+ saves this season. Meanwhile the duo of Sun Devil attackers, Mina Scott and Lydia Oldknow combined for nine of the 18 ASU goals and each tied career highs in goals scored. Scott accounted for five goals while Oldknow recorded her third game of a career-high four goals this season. Defender Gigi Gaspar also notched her first career goals in the win.

Scouting the Opponent:
Colorado: The Buffaloes have won three of their last four games, with their most recent loss (14-8) coming against Denver on April 3. CU has played just four games at home and owns a 2-2 record at Kittredge Field, but boasts a 6-2 road record on the season. Colorado has been in the IWLCA polls in all but one week this season, which came in the opening polls. Their highest ranking has been 19, and lowest has been 22.

Denver: The Pioneers opened the season at No. 4 in the ILWCA polls, but have since dropped to No. 13, their lowest spot in the polls this season. DU rides a six-game winning streak spanning over a month with their last loss coming on March 11. They will face Butler on the road before returning home to host the Sun Devils on Sunday.

Sun Devil Notables:
  • Sophomore attacker Lydia Oldknow recorded seven points (4G-3A) against Cal and is the second Sun Devil this season with a seven-point game. Anna Thornton previously recorded seven points (3G-7A) against Pittsburgh on February 15.
  • Zoe Mazur recorded 10 draw controls in the win over Cal, and tallied her sixth game this season with 10+ draw controls. She now owns the program's single-season draw control record with 116 and counting, passing Maura Cissel's 111 in 2021.
  • Defender Gigi Gaspar scored the first two goals of her career on Saturday against California. Entering the game, she had just one shot in her career.
