SAN DIEGO– Arizona State lacrosse (4-4) opens Pac-12 Conference play on the road Sunday, March 17 against San Diego State (1-8) at Snapdragon Stadium. The game is slated for 12 p.m. MST and can be viewed via YouTube here.
The two programs have met seven times, with the Sun Devils holding the series edge 4-3. ASU has won three of the last four meetings, however, they dropped the most recent one 15-12 last season in San Diego. All three losses to the Aztecs have been on the road.
Sun Devil Outlook:
The Sun Devils defeated the Liberty Flames 12-5 at home last weekend after goalkeeper Katie Vahle recorded a season-high 15 saves, and allowed the team's fewest goals in a game this season. The win snapped a four-game losing streak, three of which came against ranked opponents for ASU. Arizona State is back at .500 on the year, and is led by sophomore attacker Lydia Oldknow, who has 21 goals and five assists.
Scouting the Opponent:
San Diego State was just taken down by Dartmouth on Friday, and was defeated 20-8 suffering their seventh-straight loss and third straight at home. In fact, SDSU is winless at home with their only win coming on ASU turf in a neutral match against UC Davis in the season-opening weekend.
