Freshman Wenyi Ding is the back to back Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Week after his dominant win at the Amer Ari Invitational in Waimea, Hawaii.
With a nine stroke victory, Ding claimed the top spot on the podium with a 27-under finish (63-64-62=189). A total of 26 birdies, one eagle, and one bogey, gave Ding the opportunity to stay way ahead of the competition. In the third and final round, Ding birdied five straight to start the front nine and picked up five more birdies in the remaining 13 holes.
After the first place finish, Ding has moved up in the WAGR Rankings to sit at No. 10. He jumped three spots from last week and sits close to fellow Sun Devil Preston Summerhays at No. 8.
This is the first back to back weekly recognition from the Pac-12 for the Sun Devils in program history.
