TEMPE – The Sun Devils put the Bulldogs on a leash with a 5-3 victory in the opening battle of the two-game series at Mullett Arena on Friday night. The No. 19 Arizona State hockey team's (7-7-1, 4-3-0 NCHC) offense was bolstered by goals from five different skaters who helped nab three conference points from Minnesota Duluth (5-9-0, 2-5-0 NCHC).
ASU now solely owns the second place spot in conference standings with 13 points (trailing Western Michigan's 18 points).
Dylan Jackson scored the game-winning goal, his second of the season to push the Sun Devils to a four-game winning streak.

STREAKS AND PLAYER NOTES
- Artem Shlaine extended his point-scoring streak with an assist on ASU's third goal of the night scored by Ryan Alexander. Shlaine has six points in four games from five goals and one assist.
- Cullen Potter is on a three-game point scoring streak including two goals in the past two games. He scored a tie-breaking goal early in the second period in strong response to UMD's game-tying goal just 52 seconds into the middle frame. For the first time in his collegiate career, he finished the night as a +2 plus/minus.
- Ty Jackson scored the first goal of the game with assists from his twin, Dylan Jackson, and Sam Court. It's the first multipoint game of the season for Ty and the 20th of his NCAA career.
- Dylan Jackson scored the eventual game-winner which also gave him his second multipoint game of the year and seventh of his career.
- Dylan Jackson has scored two game-winning goals this year which ties a single season career high for the graduate winger.
- Bennett Schimek extended his point scoring streak to three games with an assist on Cullen Potter's goal. The assist bumped him into the team lead in points with 14 from seven goals and seven assists
- Sam Court put up his very first two-point night in NCAA competition with one goal and one assist against the Bulldogs
- Ryan Alexander is starting to cook with the gas: the junior boasts two goals and four assists for six points in the last four games (four-game point scoring streak). He now leads the team in plus/minus with +9
- Lukas Sillinger extended his assist streak to four games with an apple on Cullen Potter's goal
