ATLANTA – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) today announced Sun Devil Women's Basketball associate head coach Darrell Mosley and assistant coach Camille Collier were among 32 coaches selected to participate in the 2025 WBCA Next Generation Institute – a high-level education program for experienced assistant coaches who aspire to become collegiate head coaches.

Now in its third year, the Next Generation Institute curriculum focuses on the CEO attributes needed to lead a program and be a problem-solver in today's ever-changing landscape of higher education and the enterprise of intercollegiate athletics.

"A college athletics team is a company; the head coach is its CEO," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "A head coach must be more than a strategist and tactician in the sport. They must also be an inspirational leader, businessperson, communicator, marketer, visionary, and manager of people and resources. The Next Generation Institute challenges participants to put aside the X's and O's for a while and concentrate on understanding and developing those skills so that they are prepared to take the next step in their careers and become successful CEOs."

To be eligible for selection to participate in the program, a person must be a current WBCA member, must have at least five years' experience as a college assistant coach, and must have been nominated by their head coach. The Institute is held in conjunction with the WBCA Convention, which this year takes place April 3-6 in Tampa.

"I am incredibly proud that Coach Mosley and Coach Camille have been selected for the 2025 Next Generation Institute," ASU head coach Natasha Adair said. "Their dedication to the success and well-being of student-athletes truly sets them apart as rising leaders in our game.

"Both are not just 'players' coaches,' but respected mentors who embody the spirit of excellence in coaching. I am excited to see the incredible impact they will continue to make in the world of athletics!"

Mosley was a member of Adair's coaching staff at Delaware when the Blue Hens captured the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championship and the program's first NCAA appearance since the 2013 season. He joined Adair in Tempe after she was named ASU's head coach in March 2022. He was promoted to associate head coach in May 2023.

Mosley came to Delaware following a six-year stint as the head women's basketball coach at Lincoln University. During his time at Lincoln, the women's basketball program excelled and advanced to the CIAA Tournament semifinals three consecutive seasons (2017, 2018 and 2019). In his final complete season, Mosley coached the Lions to a school-record 23 victories, earning CIAA Coach of the Year honors in addition to being named a finalist for WHoopDirt.com's National Coach of the Year.

"Coach Mosley's experience and success as a Division II head coach at Lincoln University has uniquely prepared him for a successful transition to Division I as he had immediate contributions to the championship success we had at the University of Delaware," Adair said. "Not only has Coach Mosley been instrumental in the development of our student-athletes on the court, his leadership and impact have been invaluable assets to our program the last three years."

Collier's career as a student-athlete coincided with Adair's time as assistant coach at Wake Forest. The pair were reunited when Collier joined Adair's ASU staff in May 2022. Before coming to ASU, Collier, who was selected to participate in the prestigious TopConnect Basketball Symposium in 2022, served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Virginia Tech where she was part of a staff that helped the Hokies to a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, the highest in program history at the time. She was also an assistant coach at both Hofstra University and Radford University. During her time at Radford, Collier and the Highlanders were Big South Regular Season Champions and Big South Tournament Champions en route to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

"Coach Camille's relentless work ethic and insights gained from some of the best coaches in the country highlight her potential as a future leader," Adair said. "Coach Camille will be in the next generation of phenomenal head coaches. She has always led from the front, including when I coached her at Wake Forest University. She is now ready to lead her own program."
