STANFORD, Calif. – Sun Devil softball had few answers for No. 8 Stanford in a 14-0 loss on Saturday evening in Pac-12 action.
Arizona State (18-17, 2-9 Pac-12) had just one hit in the loss. Stanford (30-6, 10-1 Pac-12) took advantage of 10 walks from three ASU pitchers to clinch the series win.
Stanford scored twice in the bottom of the first and then blew the game open with nine runs in the second inning. Shannon Cunningham was the only Sun Devil to reach base with a double to lead off the fifth inning.
The two teams will close this three-game series on Sunday. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on the Pac-12 Network.
