TEMPE – The 2024 Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship is in Tempe this week as Sun Devil Beach Volleyball hosts the event from April 24-26 at the Sun Devil Beach Volleyball Facility. No. 6 seed Arizona State will start their tournament on Wednesday against No. 3 seed Stanford at noon MST.

ASU (19-7) will be facing Stanford (28-3) for the second time this season. The Sun Devils upset the then-No. 2 ranked Cardinal at the Pac-12 South Tournament in Tempe, winning 3-2. That win is the highest-ranked victory in program history for the Sand Devils.

The tournament is double elimination, with all teams guaranteed at least two duals. The full schedule and fan information can be found on the tournament central page here.

Sun Devil Outlook
The 2024 season has been one milestone after another for Arizona State and first-year Sun Devil head coach Kristen Rohr. The team is 19-7 heading into the Pac-12 Championships, which is the second-best win total in program history (21 in 2019 is the record). Of those 19 wins, nine were against ranked opponents, which is the highest number of ranked wins in a single season in team history. ASU began the season 6-0, which was the best start the program has seen and was tied for the longest winning streak in team history.

Individually, the Sand Devils have had some standouts. Sophomore Arden Besecker and freshman Ava Williamson have been storming up the single season record book at ASU. They have the two longest individual winning streaks in team history, Besecker getting 12 in a row and Williamson earning 11-straight. Together, they had won nine in a row before switching partners. They also are both tied for fifth for wins in a single season, both currently with a 22-4 record. While paired together, they were named the Pac-12 Pair of the Week.

Another duo to earn Pac-12 Pair of the Week was Daniella Kensinger and Anya Pemberton. Before this season, ASU had only had one pair of the week nod. Those two have a 17-9 record, though not together anymore having switched Pemberton and Williamson.

The experienced duo of senior Taryn Ames and graduate Lexi Sweeney are the only pair to play together all season. They have a 17-9 record and have been climbing the career individual wins list, currently No. 5 on the list at ASU with 58 wins each. They also are No. 7 for career wins for a pair just by playing together this season, which is also seventh for a single season.
