Figueroa has hardly had to break a sweat in his first NCAA Championships. He handed out major-decison losses to both Army's Ethan Berginc and Minnesota's Patrick McKee on Thursday. Kyle Parco held off both Pittsburgh's Finn Solomon and Appalachian State's Cody Bond by a combined 9-6 score.
Jacori Teemer took it to overtime against South Dakota State's Cael Swensen in the Thursday nightcap after handling Little Rock's Matty Bianchi in the opening session.
Schultz, a runner-up at this tournament two seasons ago, eased past Nebraska's Nash Hutmacher before outsmarting Rutgers' Yaraslau Slavikouski in the round of 16.
Julian Chlebove and Jesse Vasquez will wrestle in the consolation bracket on Friday morning, as well, hoping to keep their shot alive at a third-place finish in their respective weight classes.
