ATHENS, Ga.- Lindsay Looney became a Second-Team All-American once again on Thursday evening at the NCAA Championships, where she placed 16th overall in the 500 freel at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.
She touched the wall at 4:41.84 in the consolation final of the 500 free as she received All-American honors in the event for the second season in a row.
MORNING PRELIMS
Seven Sun Devils competed in the morning prelims of the 500 free and the 200 IM.
Looney was the top finisher in the 500 free, taking 16th to qualify for the evening B final, touching the wall at 4:38.87. Deniz Ertan swam a 4:45.23, Molly Batchelor a 4:46.16 and Alexa Reyna a 4:49.61.
Ieva Maluka was the top finisher in the 200 IM, taking 18th with a time of 1:55.67, the fourth best time in school history. Zoe Summar swam a 1:57.09 for a personal best and the ninth highest time in school history while Charli Brown swam a personal best time of 1:57.43.

The Sun Devils raced on Wednesday evening, which featured just the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay with the Sun Devils competing in the latter. The Sun Devil women took 12th in the relay swimming a school record time of 6:57.06 as Ieva Maluka, Looney, Erin Milligan and Charli Brown represented ASU in the event.

Brown will compete in the 400 IM while Summar will compete in the 100 breast. Maluka, Looney and Batchelor will swim the 200 free. Additionally, the Sun Devils will have a squad competing in the 400 medley relay in the evening.
The finals for the five events, plus the 400 medley relay, will begin at 3 p.m. MST.
