Sun Devil Outlook
No. 18 Arizona State (6-4, 3-2 Pac-12)
- The Gym Devils have won the last three dual meets, including most recently at home against Washington. In each meet, Arizona State has scored a high 196 team score.
- The National Qualifying Score (NQS) rankings began this week on Road to Nationals and ASU is ranked No. 18 with a 196.745 NQS. The NQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. NQS scores are used to determine seeding for NCAA regional competition.
- The Washington win was the fifth meet in a row with the Gym Devils scoring a 49-plus in each event. Additionally, the vault rotation added on to their 18-meet streak of scoring a 49 or higher, a program-long streak.
- The vault squad continues to bring in the event titles. The team has 11 titles on that event, led by senior Anaya Smith's five. Behind that is the floor squad with seven, led by graduate Hannah Scharf's four.
- In the win over the Huskies, freshman Halle Gregoire scored a 9.900 on floor for a new career high and her first floor title. Additionally, senior Sarah Clark notched a 9.925 on beam to win that title, matching her season high. Neither Gym Devil has scored below a 9.850 on those events in the last four meets.
- Assistant coach Lacy Dagen is returning to her alma mater. She was a gymnast at Oregon State from 2018-21.
