TEMPE – Finally back home, No. 23 Sun Devil Gymnastics is hosting the top two teams in the country in a tri-meet on Friday night in Desert Financial Arena, bringing in No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 2 Cal.

Friday's theme is Maroon Monsoon and fans are encouraged to wear maroon. In order to be on time for the meet, which begins at 7 p.m. MST, fans should plan to arrive early in order to avoid traffic due to the Sun Devil Hockey game at Mullett Arena that also begins at 7 p.m.
For those not in attendance, the meet will be live on Pac-12 Insider. There will be live scoring as well, and fans can follow along on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram for updates.

Sun Devil Outlook
No. 23 Arizona State (3-2, 0-1 Pac-12)
- The Gym Devils are coming off of their best score of the season, scoring a 196.700 at Utah to place second in their first Pac-12 meet of the year.
- This is the third season in a row that Arizona State has hosted the No. 1 team in the country. In program history, ASU has beaten the top-ranked team just once (UCLA in 2001) and the No. 2 team twice (Alabama in 2000, Utah in 2003).
- Graduate Hannah Scharf won the floor title during the meet, scoring a season-high 9.925 to tie for first. She has scored at least a 9.800 on both vault and floor this season.
- Senior Jada Mangahas has competed in the all-around in each of the last three meets. She added beam to her arsenal this season to be in the all-around for the first time in her career. At Utah, she earned a new career-high in the all-around with a 39.325.
- The vault squad has been strong to start 2024. ASU is on a streak of 14-consecutive meets with a 49-plus on vault (dating back to last season), which is the longest such streak in program history.
Opponent Outlook
No. 2 California (7-1, 2-0 Pac-12)
- Over the weekend at home, California downed Oregon State, 197.950 to 196.775. Junior Mya Lauzon is the reigning Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week after her performance during that meet.
- The Sun Devils and the Golden Bears have met many times before as the overall record between the two schools is 36-10, with ASU leading.
- ASU competed twice against Cal last season, both meetings resulted in a loss for the Sun Devils. The Gym Devils' last win over the Bears was in 2022 in Tempe when Arizona State upset Cal's perfect season.
No. 1 Oklahoma (10-0, 2-0 Big 12)
- Last weekend, the Sooners competed against Denver where they bested the Pioneers 197.775 to 197.150. Oklahoma is undefeated so far this season, with all but one win coming against a top-15 team.
- The Sun Devils trail in the all-time matchup record between Arizona State and Oklahoma, 23-8.
- This is the seventh-season in a row that the Gym Devils and the Sooners have met in the regular season. ASU's last win over OU came in 1998.
