TEMPE – Sun Devil Men's Basketball (10-7, 4-2 Pac-12) was unable to pull away from the UCLA (8-10, 3-4 Pac-12) in the second half as the Bruins climbed back from a double-digit deficit to clip the Sun Devils 68-66 Wednesday night at Desert Financial Arena.

The game featured five lead changes in the final ten minutes, as the Bruins went on a game-sealing in the final two minutes.

Four Sun Devils reached double-figures with Frankie Collins scoring 16 points and tying a career-high with four three's on the night, tying the mark set on Nov. 7, 2022 against Tarleton State. Adam Miller also had 16 on the night, snatching six rebounds in the process. Jamiya Neal scored 13 points, four rebounds and three assists. Lastly, Jose Perez had 12 points and two assists.

The Sun Devils had a season-low six turnovers on the night, eclipsing the previous lows against Stanford and UMass Lowell earlier this season. Six different Sun Devils had one steal apiece, and ASU managed to make 11 three's, the fourth time in Pac-12 play where the maroon & gold have made double-digit threes in a game this season.

QUOTABLES:
Arizona State Head Coach Bobby Hurley
On how to regroup everyone for USC on Saturday:

"Just try and realize that there was a lot of quality basketball that was played by our team. First half, really good defense. We were able to score 36 points against a team that outside of Utah, held every pac-12 opponent in the sixties up to this game. Pleased that we were able to generate offense against a very good defensive team and just look at the bright side of this somehow."

On if the flow of the offense is what Hurley is looking for:
"Jamiya had a good half. Made up for missing two free throws at the end of Washington, first half. He came out and made two at the end of the half. Frankie scored at the end of the half after we got a stop, we won the last minute, 4-to-0. So that was really good stuff. Adam Miller had a nice game offensively in the first half. Just did a lot of things well at both ends of the floor. Played a winning game as close to being the winner as you could be."

Arizona State Guard Frankie Collins:
On the offensive game in the first half:

It's kind of the same thing we've been doing, just the balls are going in the hoop. I think we're being unselfish and just playing together. I think we understand when to play in transition, when to slow it down and run the set. So that's also good. So I just think our guys are coming in ready to play every night and we, we've been, we've been doing what we're supposed to do.

On what he took from what Coach Hurley said after the game:
"That we have to control our emotions. We can't let this happen. We have a young team but we have to grow up early if we want to continue to do what we say we want to do and get to NCAA tournaments and things like that. We have to mature and not let things like that happen. And especially at home. You can't give up a home game like that."
