THE COURSE
Since opening in 1992, Vanderbilt Legends Club has made its mark in the world of golf by receiving national recognition and accolades. The par 72 North Course, stretching 6,491 yards for this tournament, was designed by Hall of Fame golfer Tom Kite and world-renowned golf course architect, Bob Cupp. The greens are well undulated with the promise of multiple hole locations and the bunkers are large and boldly shaped. The course path provides an inspired variety of holes playing through lush fields and around lakes and streams. It is widely recognized as among the finest in Tennessee, having served as the hosts of many local, regional, and national amateur and professional competitions.
HISTORY AT MASON RUDOLPH INVITATIONAL
For the first time since 2018, Sun Devil Women's Golf will compete in the Mason Rudolph Invitational. The 23rd edition of the event will be played at Vanderbilt Legends Club near Nashville, where host institution Vanderbilt is based. Arizona State hopes weather isn't a factor this time as it was in their last appearance, with rain cutting the third round short. Coach Farr-Kaye's squad still managed to finish second behind host Vanderbilt.
The Sun Devils tied their program-low 54-hole score vs. par (-25) with a third-place finish in 2017, their first appearance in the event since a second-place finish in 2013. ASU also competed at the Mason Rudolph Invitational from 2007-09 and 2005. In 2007, All-American Anna Nordqvist finished second while leading Arizona State to a second-place finish. The Maroon & Gold will be tested with an early trip to the southeast part of the country, a potential landing spot for NCAA Regionals.
LAST TIME OUT
Arizona State finished in third place in their return to the McGuire Invitational, beating out 13 teams in the initial event of the 2023-24 campaign. It was a balanced effort that helped the Sun Devils to an impressive performance over the two days, as four individuals finished in the Top-20. Ashley Menne led the way for the Maroon & Gold, appearing to be in midseason form on her way to a sixth place finish. Grace Summerhays put together a strong effort in order to tie for 14th. Patience Rhodes and Paula Schulz-Hanssen joined them in the Top-20, with the pair finishing tied for 17th. All six Sun Devils earned valuable experience that will be critical for the rest of the 2023-24 season.
Arizona State will be tested throughout 2023-24 as Coach Farr-Kaye built one of the nation's toughest slates once again. The Maroon and Gold will compete in a total of nine regular season events, four in the Fall and five in the Spring. The postseason begins April 21 at the Pac-12 Championship, with NCAA Regionals and NCAA Championships scheduled for the month of May.

"Although it wasn't quite the finish we were looking for, it was a solid start to our season," Coach Tatman mentioned. "I thought our ladies competed well and fought hard. We didn't get off to good starts each day, so for them to fight back was nice to see. It was really nice to see Ashley near the top of the leaderboard and cement herself in our lineup again. She's been working really hard. There's a reason she's on the ANNIKA Award watch list."
