TEMPE – Sun Devil Soccer (4-1-3) returns home this week and looks to host Colorado College on Friday, September 15 at 7 p.m. MST for their final non-conference match before the Pac-12 regular season commences. The matchup will be streamed on the ASU Live Stream network.

The Sun Devils traveled south to Tuscon this last weekend for the Arizona Classic, where the team defeated Utah State 1-0 but fell short 1-0 to Texas Tech for their first loss of the 2023 season. In Thursday's win over Utah State, Ashely Leonhart fired a shot in the 37th minute that hit the post and fell to Florence Vaillancourt, who made the rebound for the game-winning goal while also recording her first goal as a Sun Devil.

The Maroon and Gold held the score even with Texas Tech until the 73rd minute when Arizona State conceded a goal off of a corner kick. This loss for the Sun Devils ended a streak of 16 regular season, non-conference games without a defeat (11-0-5).

"We've really got to grow and develop as an attacking threat, and we know there is some work to do there," ASU head coach Graham Winkworth said.

Colorado College has had a winless start to its 2023 season, holding a record of 0-5-1, and is coming off a 3-0 loss to Army in West Point. Despite failing to record a win thus far, the Tigers have recorded five goals, with two coming from Shalom Prince, resulting in only half of their losses ending in shutouts.

Winkworth added, "Last time we played Colorado College it was an overtime match, so we know it will be a challenge, and we are looking forward to that challenge. We are also looking forward to playing in front of our home fans and expecting a good crowd on Friday night."

The Sun Devils continue to dominate the Pac-12 leaders lists following their win and loss last weekend. The assists leaderboard is led by Suzuka Yosue with her four assists, and Enasia Colon sits in third place in the goals leaderboard for her four goals scored this season. The Pac-12 goalkeeper's leaderboard also features the Sun Devil's Pauline Nelles for her 27 saves.

As a team, ASU leads the Pac-12 and ranks 19th nationally with its 0.375 goals-against-average while sitting 13th with a .900 save percentage.

ASU has faced Colorado College twice in program history and was victorious on each occasion. The first meeting with a 2-0 home win during the 1999 campaign in the only other matchup in Tempe. Last season, the Sun Devils defeated the Tigers 1-0 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
