Sun Devil Athletics had another eventful season in 2022-23. The year was full of hosting Pac-12 Championships, NCAA Championships, other tournaments, inaugural seasons and hundreds of other competitions. Approximately 1 million visitors come through SDA facilities each school year for our 200+ SDA events -- with the official attendance of more than 700k -- and special engagements such as graduations, Pat's Run, high school championships and Stadium 365 events.

Let's break down the season into numbers:


1: The Jan. 19 men's basketball game vs. UCLA drew more than 5,000 students, tops in Sun Devil history.

Softball averaged 1,398 fans per game in its 26 home games, best mark in school history.

Women's Basketball: 14 home events with 35,629 total attendance (2,545 per game)

5:
Leon Marchand won five individual NCAA titles, including Swimmer of the Year for the second straight season. The Sun Devils hosted five home events on the year. Also, check out this story from ASU News on him.

6: Arizona State Triathlon won their sixth straight national title in November at Tempe Town Lake and will host the national championships again in November of 2023.

10: Sun Devil Track had 10 All-Americans at the NCAA Outdoor Championships this year, led by one of the best Sun Devils in any sport Turner Washington.

60: Men's and Women's Golf hosted the NCAA Golf Championship for the third consecutive year at Greyhawk, with 60 schools competing for a trophy at the end of May.

539: Junior Tyi Skinner scored 539 points during her first season as a Sun Devil, the most points by a Sun Devil since 2001-02, as women's basketball hosted 14 home games in 2023-24.

Sun Devil Athletics have a particularly busy spring hosting schedule for the next season. In the month of March, ASU Basketball is hosting the Men's Final Four of the March Madness tournament and Sun Devil Beach Volleyball is hosting the Pac-12 South Invitational. In the month of April, Men's Golf is slated to host the Pac-12 championships and Beach Volleyball is scheduled to host the Pac-12 Tournament.
