SUN DEVIL NOTABLES
- In mid-December, the Sun Devils were ranked No. 1 in the CSCAA polls, the first time in school history they've topped the rankings. They have since held on to that ranking, beating No. 12 Stanford, No. 2 Cal and No. 19 Arizona to close out the regular season.
- The legend of Léon Marchand seems to grow each time he dives into the pool. On January 21, in the Sun Devils' domination of No. 2 Cal, Marchand set a new NCAA record in the 400 IM at 3:31.84. He owns school records in six individual events and finished the regular season winning all 21 races he competed in this year.
- A trio of returners on this year's roster are Pac-12 Champions, as Marchand, Grant House and Julian Hill teamed up to win the 800 free relay a season ago alongside Carter Swift. Marchand also won the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 breast.
- A handful of freshmen have stepped up and made immediate impacts this season, led by Owen McDonald, Jonny Kulow and Zalan Sarkany, among others. All three will be major players for the Sun Devils this week in Federal Way.
- Last we saw the top-ranked Sun Devil Men in action, they throttled in-state rival and No. 19 Arizona, 223-58, on February 4. The 165-point margin of victory was the largest over Arizona since at least 1998.
- The Sun Devils enjoyed a third-place finish at last season's Pac-12 Championships, their first top-three showing since 1995. The Cal Golden Bears won their fifth consecutive conference title last season. Pac-12 Championship History
