FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Lindsay Looney became the fourth Sun Devil Women's Swimming Pac-12 Champion of the Bob Bowman era on Day 2 of the Pac-12 Championships on Thursday evening at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
Looney won the 500 free (4:38.29), just edging out Stanford's Morgan Tankersley by .07. Teammate Molly Batchelor rounded out the top three, touching the wall at 4:39.54.
The Sun Devils have now won the 500 free in each of the last three Pac-12 Championships they've competed in.

After Looney and Batchelor crowded the podium in the 500 free, the Sun Devils continued to get after it in the 200 IM, where six would place in the top-24.
Freshman Ieva Maluka was the top finisher, placing sixth in the 200 IM A final at 1:57.37. Charli Brown (9th), Jadé Foelske (11th), Zoe Summar (18th), Ginger McMahon (23rd) and Izzy Krantzcke (24th) rounded out the rest of the finals.
In the 50 free C final, the last of the individual races of the evening, Erin Milligan was the only Sun Devil to appear. She took 22nd overall at 22.86.
The 200 free relay was the final event of the night, in which the Sun Devils turned in a sixth-place effort behind Looney-Milligan-Batchelor-Maluka at 1:30.57.
DIVING
For the second consecutive day, freshman Lane Stallworth was the top Sun Devil Men, this time placing 13th in the 3-meter with his score of 277.30. Thomas Wesche (14th), Caleb Liban (15th) and Zachory Lundgren (16th) trailed Stallworth. The top eight advanced to the evening final session.
In the Women's 1-meter, the first opportunity for Amayah Wiley and Ashlyn Kirsch in Federal Way, they took 21st and 22nd, respectively. They'll get another crack at a final session on Friday morning for the 3-meter preliminaries.

MORNING SWIM PRELIMS
The evening finals session featured plenty of the Maroon & Gold. A total of six qualified for a 200 IM final, highlighted by Ieva Maluka's eighth-place finish to net her a spot in the A final. Jadé Foelske, Charli Brown and Izzy Krantzcke made up part of the B final field, while freshmen Zoe Summar and Ginger McMahon appeared in the C final.
Lindsay Looney and Molly Batchelor were third and fifth, respectively, in the morning 500 free race, securing their spots in the A final. Elli Straume placed 15th overall and Katherine Randall was 18th.
Erin Milligan was the top Sun Devil finisher in the 50 free on Thursday morning, taking 24th overall.

Friday is shaping up to be the most action-packed of this meet yet, consisting of two dive events and six swim races.
400 IM | 100 fly | 200 free | 100 breast | 100 back | 400 medley relay
Men's platform | Women's 3-meter
Preliminaries for swimming will begin at 11:30 a.m. MST, and finals are slated to begin at 7 p.m. MST.
The Men's platform final will be held at 5:55 p.m. MST and the Women's 3-meter is scheduled for 8:25 p.m. MST.
