QUOTES
Head Coach Bob Bowman
On what he thought of the meet in general:
"I thought we had good energy. We had good intensity in the racing and for where we are in the training, the times were good. So I'm pretty happy with that."
On ASU previous record against UCLA:
"No, we did talk about the fact that over the last 10 years these meets have been relatively close and we had only won two out of 10. So it was kind of nice to come back and win one. We did think about it, but we're really just trying to think about our process and how we're swimming these individual races and the score takes care of itself."
Junior Erin Milligan:
On performance of today's meet:
"I know there are a lot of things that I can work on to be better for tomorrow, mid season and every meet in the future. I'm pretty happy with the times. I feel like they align pretty well with what I do in practice. The only thing is I can definitely be better with some techniques. But other than that, I thought it was pretty good."
On positives about today's meet:
"I feel like I'm in really good aerobic shape right now and my back half was exactly where I needed to be. I mean, obviously there's always room to be better. But I'm really happy with how I feel."
Senior Lindsay Looney:
On how they prepared for this meet:
"We've kind of all as a women's team, kind of collectively just been like hyping each other up a lot. We've been kind of talking about our strengths and what all of us can bring to the table. I think each and every day, I look around the team and I don't see one single girl not wanting to get better for, not only themselves but the team. I think that's one strength that overall our team is significantly better at this year. It's incredible to see it and watch all of the women want to prosper for this team. And our culture is skyrocketing and everyone is happy to be here and that's the best feeling ever."
On the team's mentality:
"Just everyone being happy, wanting to be here, wanting to get better as a team and just seeing every woman wanting to pursue new events too. We're having best times back to back all the like every meet and watching them do that makes me want to get better. It makes me want to get better for them, the team. It's so fun having a combined program and getting to swim with the guys too. But whenever we have these opportunities to kind of just hone in on our women's team and really see what we have to offer. It's super exciting."
