The Arizona State men's basketball team couldn't overcome a big rebounding disadvantage and a slow start on the offensive end in a 77-49 loss to BYU late Thursday night in the Vegas Showdown at Mandalay Bay Events Center.
ASU (2-2) will play Vanderbilt at 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. MT Friday.
ASU shot just 9-of-31 (.290) from the floor and 1-of-11 (.091) from the three-point stripe in falling behind 32-17 at the half. BYU had 11 offensive boards in the first half outscored 9-0 on second-chance points in the first 20 minutes.
Jamiya Neal led ASU with 13 points, while Frankie Collins added 11 points and seven rebounds. Bryant Selebangue added 10 points.
