Quotes

Head Coach Bob Bowman
On How He Felt Today:
"I felt okay about today. It's a pretty tough turnaround to have kind of a high energy meet on Friday and then get up and swim in the 50m the next morning. So I think considering that they did a pretty good job, there's definitely some people that I thought could have done better but overall solid efforts and it was just a good experience for them racing in the long."

On preparing for short and long course:
"They're pretty much the same as this time of the year. We're just trying to get them to be in a certain physiological state, you know they're long, fairly intense right now. They are nowhere near what they're going to be when they're at their peak later in the season."

Sophomore Swimmer Andy Dobranski
On his performance today:
"I felt pretty good about it. There's some things I need to improve and everything, but just for where I am at in season, it's really good times for how I did."

On the Olympic style pool:
"I like it. I feel like I'm better at long course than I am at show course. So it benefits me, but also it shows where I need to work on my weaknesses and strengths."

Sophomore Swimmer Zoe Summar
On the strides the team has made this year:
"Yeah, the strides have been very large last year. We weren't ranked this year. We came up 12 spots on the rankings pre season and our group chat went crazy. We were so proud of each other already just because we know what we have ready to go and we know what we have to prove. And I think we're just with the number four team only losing by 40 points yesterday, that was another really big, just that the ASU women's team is on the come up… We came in here yesterday ready to fight the wolfpack."

On improvements from last year:
"I think it's the confidence in ourselves, especially being with the men's team and they're so good. It's like we had to find our own confidence with them. And I think we've definitely found that you can see it when we're up on the block, we know that we're capable because we put the work in every day and I see everyone cheering on during practice. That's been a big thing for us is cheering on during practice. And I think that's just building because if we know we have it in practice, we can have it in a race."
