BERKELEY, Calif. – The No. 4 seeded Sun Devil Lacrosse (6-13, 4-8 Pac-12) concluded their Pac-12 Tournament run with a 9-5 loss to the No. 1 seeded USC Trojans. Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Teagan Ng tallied two goals while Kaylon Buckner, Annie Haley and Mina Scott each scored a goal in the Semifinal match at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, Thursday night.

In the first five minutes of the game, both squads held each other scoreless. Shortly after, the Trojans put away three goals in a six minute period. Colleen Ryan forced a turnover in front of the Sun Devil net which allowed ASU to take the ball all the way up the field for a successful clearance. Once in the final third, Katie Brodsky found Kaylon Buckner in the open slot to put the Sun Devils on the board with three seconds left in the first quarter. Continuing the defensive lockdown, seven minutes went by with back and forth play. Ng found her first goal of the day after the Trojans scored first in the period. In the tight defensive battle that was the only scoring in the period, leaving the score at 4-2 at halftime.
The theme of the day didn't change in the second half as almost seven minutes went by before USC struck first in the third period. Annie Haley scored on a free position goal to kickstart the Sun Devil offense in the second half, but the Trojans added another goal in the third. Ng scored her second goal of the day 50 seconds into the last period. The Trojans went on to score three goals to put themselves up 9-4. The Sun Devils made one last push into the final third resulting in a free position goal for Mina Scott to complete the scoring.
