Sun Devil women's basketball associate head coach Darrell Mosley was named one of Silver Waves Media's 50 Most Impactful High Major Assistants in Women's Division I Basketball.
Mosley, who was a member of current Sun Devil head women's basketball coach Natasha Adair's staff at Delaware, was promoted to his current position of associate head coach earlier this month. Mosley joined Adair at Delaware in the spring of 2021 after a six-year stint as the head women's basketball coach at Lincoln University. In 2022, the Blue Hens won the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championship and earned the program's first NCAA appearance since the 2013 season.
According to Silver Waves Media, "After consulting with a panel of industry professionals…the list "features some of the most outstanding and impactful assistants in Division I Women's basketball."
"I'm truly blessed for this recognition by Silver Waves Media," Mosley said. "To be listed with so many amazing assistant coaches is truly an honor."
In his first season on Adair's ASU staff, Mosley was instrumental in the development of ASU's talented backcourt. In 2022-23, Jaddan Simmons (Pac-12 All-Defense honorable mention) and Tyi Skinner (All-Pac-12 honorable mention), who will both be returning next season, earned Pac-12 honors as voted on by the league's head coaches. Skinner, who finished second in the Pac-12 and 27th in the nation in scoring (19.2 ppg), was also named to the media's 15-member All-Pac-12 team.
"I'm proud of Darrell Mosley for being recognized as one of the top 50 high major assistant coaches is the country," Adair said. "We're blessed to work with Darrell and it's not a surprise to see him get national recognition for the impact – his leadership, work ethic and consistency – he has on our program on and off the court."
Mosley's contributions at ASU have been equally important in recruiting. In the immediate weeks after taking over the program, Adair and her staff signed multiple players who would go on to be key contributors this past season.
