LOS ANGELES -- Freshman Ieva Maluka's finest day as a Sun Devil happened on Saturday afternoon at the Spieker Aquatics Center, as the Latvian native won the first three events of her collegiate career in the Women's 183-116 loss to the No. 20 Bruins.
Maluka, who's burst on to the scene already in the young season, swept the trio of individual events she competed in, taking the 200 free, 500 free and 200 IM. Maluka was responsible for winning three of the five events the Sun Devils won.
Lindsay Looney and Jade Foelske each added a pair of victories in the butterfly events, as Looney took the 200 fly and Foelske won the 100 fly. In both races, the Sun Devil duo went 1-2. Foelske was second in the 200 fly and Looney was second in the 100 fly.
TEMPE'S FLYEST: Looney & Foelske own some of the top butterfly times in program history
DIVING RESULTS
Ashlyn Kirsch earned the best finish of her Sun Devil career, placing fourth in the 1-meter (213.53). Amayah Wiley, competing in both boards, placed fourth in the 3-meter and fifth in the 1-meter.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
That's all for dual meets for the remainder of the calendar year. The Sun Devils will compete in the midseason NC State Invite from November 17-19 for their final competition of 2022.
Then, the attention turns to early 2023, when the Sun Devils have a stretch of three home meets in seven days.
