Head Coach Bobby Hurley was optimistic about his team at Pac-12 Media Day last week. He has reason to be. A combination of returning production and incoming talent has Sun Devil fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming season. It all begins with a matchup against Tarleton State on Monday, Nov. 7 at 5:00 PM MST on Pac-12 Network. Before the 2022-23 campaign gets underway, learn more about Coach Hurley's team. The following is a breakdown of the Arizona State Men's Basketball roster.

BACK COURT
#0 DJ Horne, Junior

Preseason Second Team Pac-12 All-Conference Selection...Fifth-leading returning scorer in the Pac-12 among players who were in the league last year...Averaged 12.5 points in 30 minutes per game in 2021-22..Started 28 of the 30 games he played in...Made 73 three-point attempts, the fifth-most of any Pac-12 player last season...His 2.4 makes per game were tied for second in the conference...Finished second on the team with 58 assists...Nearly averaged three rebounds per game as a guard and came up with 19 steals...Came through at the free-throw line in many late game situations, finishing a team-high 35-of-39 (90%).

#1 Luther Muhammad, Redshirt Senior
Played in 30 games in his first season as a Sun Devil, earning 11 starts...Reached double figures scoring in six games, including a season-high 15 points in the road victory over Colorado...Delivered 12 points and eight rebounds in the road win at Washington State...Compiled 12 points and five assists in the Battle for Atlantis game against Syracuse. Finished second on the team with 26 steals...Extremely reliable from the free-throw stripe, going 24-for-29 (83%) a season ago...Averaged 5.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 19.1 minutes per game.

#4 Desmond Cambridge Jr., Fifth Year
Nevada transfer joining the Sun Devils for his final year...Averaged 16.2 ppg at Nevada in 2021-22...Third Team All-MWC Selection...Poured in a career-high 36 against NCAA Tournament team Colorado State last season...Led the Wolfpack in 3PFGM (87), blocks, (34) and steals (51)..Named NABC All-District 17 Second Team in his first year at Nevada...Led Brown in scoring in his first two seasons in college...2017-18 Ivy League Rookie of the Year after setting the freshman scoring record at Brown.

#10 Frankie Collins, Sophomore
Highly-rated recruit out of high school transfers in from Michigan...Part of the Wolverines' Sweet 16 run last season...Played in 31 games as a true freshman, averaging 11 minutes per game...Earned the start in the NCAA Tournament First Round Tournament victory over No. 6 seed Colorado State, recording a career-high 14 points (6-of-7 shooting) and six rebounds...Saw 30 minutes of action in Michigan's win over No. 3 seed Tennessee that sent them to the Sweet 16...Ranked the 36th best prospect by ESPN in the 2021 class.

#2 Austin Nunez, Freshman
One of the most sought after prospects to choose Arizona State out of high school...Nominated as a McDonalds All-American his senior year...Unanimous four-start recruit according to all major recruiting services...Rivals tabbed him as the No. 55 overall and No. 11 point guard prospect in the country for the 2022 class...247 Sports had him as the No. 69 overall and No. 14 point guard prospect nationally...The 18th-highest ranked prospect to sign with Arizona State in the internet recruiting services era, with 10 of those signing in the Bobby Hurley era.

#32 Alonzo Gaffney, Senior

Made 24 starts in 30 games played during his first season in Tempe...Scored career-high 15 points in the season opening victory over Portland...Led ASU in blocks with 38, also the most blocks in a single season since De'Quon Lake's 43 during the 2017-18 campaign...Blocked two or more shots in 11 games, highlighted by a five-block effort at Stanford...Had 5+ rebounds 11 times, including a season-best nine rebounds in the win over North Florida...Averaged 4.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 21.6 minutes per game.

One of two Sun Devils to play in all 31 games last season...Earned three starts and averaged 12.4 minutes per game...Averaged 3.6 rebounds per game, which puts him on pace for 11+ rebounds per 40 minutes...Blocked nearly one shot per game, finishing with 29, second-most on the team...Shot 53% from the field, averaging 2.0 points per game.

#22 Warren Washington, Senior
Joined Arizona State after transferring from Nevada...Led the Wolfpack in shooting percentage (60.8) in 2021-22 and rebounds (6.6 rpg)...Averaged double digits with 10.5 ppg and blocked 27 shots...Registered four double-doubles...Achieved career high in scoring with 21 at Wyoming on 1/21/22, one of two 20+ point outputs in 2021-22...Started all 26 games for the Pack his sophomore year in 2020...Back in the Pac-12 after originally starting his career at Oregon State.

Local prospect that chose to stay home at Arizona State...Four-star prospect according to ESPN, who ranked him as the No. 7 overall prospect in Arizona...Rated as the No. 26 center prospect in the country according to Rivals...247 Sports tabbed him as the No. 30 center prospect in the nation...Played three seasons at Perry High School before transferring to Phoenix Hillcrest Prep...Played for Oakland Soldiers on AAU circuit.

#15 John Olmsted, Senior
Provided size at an integral time, stepping up into a rotational role at times over the past two years..Appeared in 12 games off the bench, shooting 50% from the inside the arch...Saw career high 7.4 MPG in 13 games played as a sophomore...Secured three rebounds and dished out an assist in four games during his freshman season.

#23 Marcus Bagley, Sophomore

Preseason Second Team Pac-12 All-Conference Selection...Elected to return to Arizona State despite receiving heavy interest from the NBA...Managed to make a big impact in a short amount of time, averaging 10.7 points and 5.7 rebounds in 27.9 minutes per game in his career...In 15 career games, Bagley has scored 10+ points in nine....One of the best freshman in the conference during the 2020-21, scoring double figures in seven of his 12 games...Put together back-to-back double-doubles against UCLA and USC, playing 38+ minutes in each contest...Picked up right where he left off during the 2021-22 season, scoring 30 points in the first two games on 40+% shooting from distance.

A force off the bench, emerging as the sixth man...Played in 30 games, averaging 14.7 minutes...Played 12 minutes and was a team-best +16 in a 58-55 victory at Washington State...Posted season-best seven points in win over North Florida...Played 20 minutes and had a +/- of +8 as ASU completed a season sweep against Oregon...Contributed in many ways, collecting 55 rebounds, 25 steals, and five blocks.

Versatile transfer from Auburn playing his final season at ASU...Played in 33 games (14 starts) for 28-6 Auburn who earned a No. 2 seed in NCAA Tournament...Averaged 5.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per game...Second on the team in offensive rebounds (56) and three-point shooting (27/73 37%) in 2021-22...Started 19 games his sophomore year and averaged 8.9 ppg...Appeared in all 31 games his freshman year off the bench..Two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection.

Originally from Tuba City, but attended Hillcrest Prep for his final year...The Bruins went 31-3 in 2021-22 with Flaggs on the roster.
