UP NEXT
The Sun Devil soccer team will attempt to go over the .500 mark in Pac-12 play while looking to solidify its spot in the upcoming NCAA Tournament when it plays the second of three consecutive home games to end the regular season when it faces Oregon State (4-10-3, 0-8-1) on Sunday (1 p.m.) at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium. After Sunday's game, ASU will close the regular season with its annual contest with in-state rival Arizona on Friday at 7 p.m.

The Sun Devils (8-4-3, 4-4-1 Pac-12) are coming off their finest performance of the season in their 5-1 win over Oregon on Thursday. Nicole Douglas, Sun Devil Soccer's all-time leader in career goals, points and game-winning goals and its record holder for most goals and points in a single season, added two more school records to her remarkable resume as the senior forward set new single-game standards for most goals (four) and points (nine) in a single game. Fellow fifth-year senior Eva van Deursen continued to add to her single-season career high in goals with her sixth of the season. Like Douglas, van Deursen also made history on Thursday night with her 25th career assist, tying Sun Devil Hall of Famer Stacey Tullock for most career assists.

SENIOR DAY ON SUNDAY
At the conclusion of Sunday's game vs. Oregon State, the Sun Devil soccer program will celebrate the careers of this year's senior class, one of the best in the history of the program: Fifth-year seniors Alexia DelgadoNicole DouglasOlivia Nguyen and Eva van Deursen and Giulia CascaperaCallie Darst and Tahlia Herman-Watt. The program's NCAA appearance in 2020 (played in the Spring of 2021), the program's first since 2014, and three winning seasons – including a pair of 10-win campaigns – are among the most notable of the several accomplishments of this year's class. The class is far from done as it looks forward to its second NCAA berth in three seasons.

SERIES NOTES VS OREGON STATE
The Sun Devils have won five of the last eight contests against Oregon State. Nicole Douglas scored ASU's only goal in last season's 2-1 loss to the Beavers. Although the Sun Devils took six more shots (16-10) than the Beavers, both teams had the same number of shots (four) on frame. Douglas scored the only goal of the of the match between the two teams in the 2020 season (played in the spring of 2021) in the 96th minute to give the Sun Devils a 1-0 win.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR
• The Sun Devils (8-4-3, 4-4-1 Pac-12) are currently tied with Arizona (7-6-3, 4-4-1) for fifth place. UCLA (16-1, 8-1 Pac-12) and Stanford (15-2-1, 8-1) are tied for first, USC follows in third place (10-2-3, 6-1-2) and Cal (10-4-4, 5-3-1) in fourth place. Washington (9-5-3, 3-5-1/sixth place) follows ASU and UA, and Washington State (8-5-3, 2-4-3) is in seventh place.
• In the all-important NCAA RPI, ASU started the week at No. 19, one of 11 Pac-12 teams ranked in the top 60. It was joined by UCLA (No. 1), Stanford (No. 10), USC (No. 33), Cal (No. 38), Arizona (No. 39), Oregon (No. 43), Washington State (No. 49), Washington (No. 51), Colorado (No. 54) and Utah (No. 57).
• Thursday's win over Oregon in emphatic fashion as the Sun Devils posted their highest goal total vs. a Pac-12 opponent since 2012 when they defeated USC 5-4 in double overtime.
• As of Oct. 28, ASU is among the top 25 teams in the nation in assists per game (2.8/5th/1st in the Pac-12), points per game (7.33/13th) and scoring offense (2.27 goals per game/23rd).
• ASU has been led by returning All-American Nicole Douglas. The program's all-time career leader in goals (55), points (129) & game-winning goals (17), Following Thursday's four-goal performance, Douglas shot up 20 spots to 6th nationally in goals per game (0.87) and moved up 24 spots to 8th place in points per game (1.93). Douglas is also 15th in shots on goal per game (2.0) and 19th in game-winning goals (4).
• After not finding the back of the net in ASU's season opener vs. South Dakota State (Aug. 18), Douglas scored nine goals in ASU's next five games. In ASU's 5-0 win over Grambling State (Sept. 14), Douglas, who was named the Pac-12's offensive player of the week on Sept. 19, tied the school's single-game school record for goals (3) for the fourth time in her career. After an unlucky stretch in Pac-12 play, Douglas reminded everyone of her one-of-a-kind ability to go off at any time with single-game records of 4 goals and 9 points in ASU's 5-1 win over Oregon (Oct. 27).
Eva van Deursen (25 career assists) needs one assist to pass ASU Hall of Famer Stacy Tullock's and take over sole possession of ASU's record for career assists. Lucy Johnson, who has missed three games this season, currently leads ASU in assists in 2022 (8) and is two assists away from tying van Deursen's single-season record of 10 set last season.
• Prior to its loss vs. Stanford, ASU scored 21 goals during a five-game winning streak (6 vs. UAB, 5 vs. Grambling State and Toledo, 3 at Colorado and 2 vs. Cal). Douglas (6 goals), van Deursen (5 goals) and Alexia Delgado (4 goals) combined for 15 of those 21 goals. By the season's 8th game, van Deursen and Delgado had set new single-season career highs in goals. Delgado scored her fifth goal at Washington (Oct. 23) and Van Deursen added her sixth goal vs. Oregon (Oct. 27).
• Both Lucy Johnson (vs. UAB) and Kennedy Mayo (vs. Toledo) have tied the single-game school record for assists (3).
