Notable Stats
- Arizona State (2-1) fell to Toledo (3-0) in the final match of the weekend. The Rockets out-blocked the Sun Devils 10 to four.
- Senior outside hitter Iman Isanovic led the team with 10 kills, her second match in a row reaching double figures. Her career kills count is up to 997, just three away from the illustrious 1,000 kill mark.
- Two Sun Devils reached double digits in digs. Sophomore libero Jaden Ravnsborg notched 12 digs while fellow sophomore Geli Cyr had 11. Cyr also added seven kills.
- Junior setter Ella Snyder was the assist leader for ASU today with 17 and seven digs. Senior Shannon Shields added 11 assists and five digs.
- In the middle, junior Claire Jeter had another solid outing. She led the team in blocks with four and had seven kills on a .429 clip.

"A tough one today, I felt like we couldn't get our offense going, they [Toledo] were firing on all cylinders, especially in the middle, so our serving was a little weaker than last night. I hate to say that the late-night match was not ideal, but I was the one who scheduled it so we're going to have to play better over time. Even when we get tired because if you want to make the tournament, that is how it's going to feel like."
Set One: Toledo 25, ASU 19
After back-and-forth scoring from the two sides to start, the Sun Devils began to fall behind. A gap as wide as eight at 16-8 drove ASU to call a timeout. Following the regroup, the Sun Devils put five-unanswered points on the board. The spark from the Sun Devils forced the Rockets to call a timeout of their own as ASU inched back to make it 16-13, Toledo. The home team was unable to overcome the deficit, however, as the Rockets made the push to take the first set.
Set Two: Toledo 25, ASU 22
Starting out close, the gap widened as ASU went down as much as seven points to Toledo midway. The set turned a corner after a service error gave the Sun Devils a point to put the game at 20-14, Rockets. Prior to the mis-hit, the Sun Devils had not strung together more than one point at a time, but this jolted a 4-0 run that put the game within three at 20-17, Toledo. Isanovic was a main component in this stretch, tallying three of ASU's five points. The Sun Devils put four more on the board, to the Rockets' two, causing the opponents to call a second timeout. The breather would stall the Sun Devils' offense, allowing the Rockets to wrap up a 25-22 win.
Set Three: Toledo 25, ASU 21
Just as the previous two sets, the third started with a battle for the lead. Four of Claire Jeter's seven kills came in the third set, playing a significant role in keeping ASU in a competitive spot. After tying their match-high run of four, ASU saw themselves just two away from tying the game at 15. The Sun Devils continued to look capable of imposing themselves, drawing Toledo to call a timeout, with ASU facing a deficit of just two, at 18-16. The Sun Devils came back out slowly but picked up once Geli Cyr buried a kill from a good distance out to make the game 22-18, Rockets. With the Rockets having 23, team block leader Claire Jeter gathered a kill and service ace, and Isanovic supported the late effort with a kill to get within two. The surge alerted Toledo to call a timeout, serving them well, as they put away the final two points to bookend the tournament.

The Sun Devils kick off nearly a month-long road trip with a tournament in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia Tech Invitational. They will face Dayton, Florida International, and Georgia Tech in two days, from September 2-3.
