Van Klinken continues to forge her name as one of the greatest women to ever throw in the Pac-12. She has three conference titles now with this week's wins and remains top of the NCAA West Region in both events heading into West Prelims despite neither of her conference final marks being season bests. She threw 60.87m/199-08 in the discus and 18.31m/60-1.00 in the shot this week in Eugene.
Marshall Jr. is officially the Pac-12 110H king. That's back-to-back crowns in the event for the second year Sun Devil, and he beat his own program record with today's finish - previously 13.49 set at least year's Pac-12 Championships. He's the fastest 110 hurdler in the west with today's result.
Dayton Carlson, the freshman phenom from good 'ol Arizona. He's ran the 800m six times in his short collegiate career and won it just twice before this week, but none of that mattered as he battled Oregon's Elliott Cook on the final lap around the track, crossing in 1:48.98 to Cook's 1:48.81 to earn silver. Carlson was milliseconds away from his collegiate best too (1:48.92). Carlson heads into the west prelims ranked 31st in the west.
Ralford Mullings is a name that everyone should write down. The freshman holds the west region's second-best discus mark at 65.39m/214-6 and took silver with a throw 23-feet further than Iffy Joyner's (Cal) best. Mulling threw 63.47m/208-3 for his first Pac-12 medal.
Dylan James has three Pac-12 bronze medals to his name now after getting on the podium in the triple and long jumps. He hit a PR in the TJ at 15.84m/51-11.75 that puts him 16th in the west region. His season best 7.70m/25-3.25 in the LJ has him sitting 15th in the west region.
Shelby Moran didn't improve on her season-best with her third-place finish in the hammer, mainly due to heavy downpours on the first day of competition in Eugene, but it put her on the podium for the second time in her career.
The relays were firing for ASU but they were just ever so slightly edged out. The 4x100 crew ran a season-best 39.28 to earn silver and slide up to 19th on the west region descending order list, while the 4x400 crew took third in 3:05.53. The men's best 4x400 time has them sitting 12th on the descending order list.
