TEMPE, Ariz. – Freshman attacker Vanda Baksa keeps moving up among program ranks after setting a single-game assist record, with seven, and the single-game point record, with 10 in Sun Devil Water Polo's (13-8, 1-1) 14-13 win against No. 22 Harvard in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. In the matinee against No. 25 Marist, the Sun Devils dominated with nine different ASU scorers in the 17-3 victory.

"It was a great weekend for us. The team really played together and for each other. I am really proud of how people stepped up this weekend," noted Head Coach Todd Clapper after securing the team's seventh straight home win.

Baksa now leads the NCAA in goals (61), points (102), and field blocks (18), and sits in the top-four of the assist and steal categories with 41 assists and 31 steals. Her 102 points moves her up to third all-time in single-season points in program history. Baksa also played her way into the top-ten single-season program records for both goals scored (7th) and season assists (5th).

Freshman goalkeeper Marie Rudasics got the start in both games for the Sun Devils and tacked on two more wins to her resume while tallying 12 saves on the day. Todd Clapper noted her poise in the net, "Marie got her first games starting in goal this weekend and was great for us."

To start the day strong in game one against Harvard, the Sun Devils won the opening sprint and never looked back. Vanda Baksa scored or assisted on 10 of the Sun Devils' 14 goals today in the first game of the morning against the Crimson in the 14-13 win.

Amira Van Buren, Emma Frazer, and Baksa all recorded hat tricks in the contest, with Van Buren's and Baksa's each coming in just one quarter of play. The largest lead of the game for ASU was four, and although Harvard battled back in the final frame, the early lead was enough for ASU to cling on to to win their sixth straight contest at home.

+ now Amira's got a hat trick and it's not even halftime ??

In game two against Marist, the Sun Devils saw nine scorers put up 17 total goals– with Vanda Baksa again leading the way with four goals and four assists for eight points. Emily Bennett notched three goals and two assists on top of recording five of the 20 ASU steals to hold Marist to just one goal in the second half after they put up two in the first quarter. The offense was firing on all cylinders to tally eight goals in the first half, and nine in the second half.

Emma Fraser's goal against the Red Foxes notched the 250th of her career, with 41 of those coming in the maroon and gold.
