But of course, only ASU has the past two major winners in Phil Mickelson (PGA) and Jon Rahm (U.S. Open).

But one other future Sun Devil will be competing with professionals as well.
Preston Summerhays -- who signed with ASU last fall and will be a freshman on the 2021-22 team in about a month -- earned a spot in the PGA TOUR's Barbasol Championship that will take place this weekend.
Due to heavy rain at Keene Trace – Keene Run, the final round of the inaugural Barbasol Junior Championship was canceled on July 1. The tournament's 36-hole scores were listed as the official results, meaning that Summerhays of Scottsdale, was the first champion of the event and received an exemption in the PGA TOUR's Barbasol Championship.
Summerhays' 11-under 133, which gave him a six-stroke win, was business as usual. He has been considered one of the top junior golfers in the world in recent years, which has been highlighted by a victory in the 2019 U.S. Junior Amateur at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. He then competed in the 2020 U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club where he only missed the cut by three strokes and finished with a better 36-hole score than players such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Jordan Spieth.
