The day will begin at 10 a.m. MST with the Sun Devils facing the Cyclones (8-2, 3-1 Big 12) on ESPN+. Zeke Jones' squad will take the mat for a second time at 12:30 p.m. against Northern Iowa (4-2 , 3-1 Big 12), and that match will be streamed live on YouTube.

There will be extra individual matches for each program during the tri-dual on Sunday. Due to the unusual schedule this season, the teams agreed to additional matches with the goal to help individual wrestlers reach the minimum amount of matches needed to participate in and/or qualify for the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

MATCH UPS:

No. 13 Iowa State

Last January the Sun Devils faced Iowa State at Duals on the Diamond at Chase Field in Phoenix where ASU closed out the tri-dual with a 21-12 victory over the Cyclones. Kordell Norfleet helped ASU secure the win with a major decision over Joel Shapiro giving the Sun Devils an extra-point. ASU currently has a four-match win streak over ISU, but the Cyclones lead the overall series 28-9.

Northern Iowa

Arizona State holds a 6-2-1 record all-time against Northern Iowa. The last time the two programs faced off was at the Virginia Duals in 2018 where ASU defeated the Panthers 24-16 en route to their first ever Virginia Duals victory.

WHO TO WATCH:

After Thursday's victory over Cal Poly, Sun Devil wrestlers Brandon Courtney(125) , Michael McGee (133), Anthony Valencia (165) , Kordell Norfleet (197) and Cohlton Schultz (HWT) remain undefeated. Norfleet and Courtney are both ranked No. 3 in their respective weight classes per the NCAA D1 Coach's Rank with Valencia and McGee rounding out in the top-10 for their weight.

Courtney will have a rematch against No. 6 Brod Teske in the Northern Iowa team dual. Last November, the Sun Devil demolished Teske in a 18-7 major decision victory. Under UNI colors, the former Penn State wrestler has been undefeated, earning five takedowns in his pin over his last opponent.

Sun Devil No.17 Peter Lipari (141) will face Iowa State's No. 6 Ian Parker (9-1) who is currently second on the Cyclones in takedowns with 25. Parker won the 2020 141-pound Big 12 title and was seeded No. 4 at last year's NCAA Championships.

Lipari has won by three decisions this season with three takedowns and three reversals in four bouts.

McGee has the opportunity to face two top-25 opponents this weekend beginning with No. 25 Zach Redding from Iowa State. In his five duals, McGee has tallied 19 takedowns, two four-point nearfalls, three reversals and has earned a riding-time bonus-point four times. The true-freshman, Redding, has posted a 6-3 record, has 17 takedowns and five reversals on the year.

His bout with Redding is followed with a possible match against No. 15 Kyle Biscoglia of Northern Iowa who is coming off a pin victory last weekend.

In the 157-pound weight class, reigning Pac-12 champion No. 12 Teemer will battle on the mat with Cyclone's former Big 12 champion, No. 3 David Carr. Teemer's work will be cut out for him as Carr is on a 23 match winning streak that dates back to December 2019.

Senior Cade Belshay and redshirt freshman Trey Munoz will also face ranked opponents.

Norfleet could face Yonger Bastida or No. 20 Marcus Coleman from Iowa State on Sunday afternoon. Bastida competed at the U23 World Championship at 92 kg, bringing home a Bronze medal for Cuba as a freshman and has won four bouts this season. Coleman, a redshirt junior, finished fifth in the Big 12 Championships back-to-back seasons while also qualifying for the NCAA Tournament.

Ranked third in the nation, Norfleet has pinned two of his opponents, earned the riding time bonus point in three matches, 13 takedowns, two two-point nearfalls and three four-point nearfalls.

Rounding out each dual is former No. 1 pound-for-pound recruit in the nation and redshirt freshman, Cohlton Schultz. Undefeated Schultz will take on two top-10 opponents with the first coming against the Cyclones. Gannon Gremmel is a two-time NCAA Championship qualifier, Second-Team All-American and is 10-0 on the year with two majors and a pin.

Schultz will then clash with No. 6 Carter Isley of Northern Iowa, who has won more than 20 matches in each of the past two seasons.
