TEMPE, ARIZ.-- The 15 game home stand for Arizona State water polo (11-4, 5-1) concluded with an 11-6 victory over No. 14 Indiana (8-8, 0-4). ASU won back-to-back games against the Hoosiers this weekend, after holding them to their fewest goals this season on Saturday, and has now won 14 straight against the Hoosiers dating back to the 2007-08 season.
After a strong four goal performance from Bente Rogge on Senior Day yesterday, she controlled both sides of the ball today recording two goals, two assists, and five steals. Those two goals put her at 26 on the season, and has extended her scoring streak to 14 straight games. Rogge is also moving up in the record books, with 137 career goals, just one goal shy of tying Mariam Salloum for 8th all-time in program history.
Speaking of scoring streaks, Luca Petovary also recorded two goals today and has extended her scoring streak to 15 straight games. Eight different Sun Devils recorded a goal, and six different players showed up defensively recording at least one steal. Blaire McDowell was another Sun Devil scorer recorded one goal, one assist, and two steals, and has now scored in the last seven straight games.
Head Coach Todd Clapper noted the team's game two adjustments after a film session this morning, "I think the team did a nice job making some adjustments, and our defense was nice. We had some better center play today than yesterday, and that made a difference too. I think our counter-defense was a lot better. We were in much more control of the transition defense."
Itzahiana Baca started in goal for the Sun Devils, recorded eight saves and held the Hoosiers to just six goals on 27 shots, a 0.222 shooting percentage compared to ASU's 0.393 shooting percentage, including being two-for-two on penalty shots.
After winning the last four straight games, ASU has improved their MPSF conference record to 5-1, which currently has them at second in the conference behind USC, with Stanford and UCLA set to play later today.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emma Fraser got two early goals in the first period to open scoring for ASU.
- Abby Begg extended the lead 3-1 with 1:59 left in the first quarter.
- McDowell and Rogge each picked up early steals from the Hoosiers.
- Baca flawlessly defended a penalty shot, and IU did not score until the final minutes of the first quarter.
- ASU however, found success with penalty shots, going 2-2 on the day
- Sun Devils took a 3-1 lead into the second.
- Petovary and Rogge were the Sun Devil scorers in the second quarter, each with two goals, which extended the lead 7-2.
- 7-3 lead at the half for ASU.
- McDowell and Marti each recorded a goal in the third quarter, as ASU took a 9-4 lead into the fourth.
- Defensively, ASU held IU to just 1-6 on power play opportunities compared to Arizona State's 3-7.
- Amira's goal put the Sun Devils in double digits and extended the lead 10-5.
- Bori Kekesi provided an insurance goal with :54 left, and secured the 11-6 win.
