TEMPE, Ariz. - In their first dual meet since November, the No. 12 Sun Devil men's swimming and diving team defeated the Northwestern Wildcats 155-143, while the No. 21 women fell to the Wildcats 164.5-133.5 Saturday afternoon at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.

"We just have to sharpen up some things," said head swim coach Bob Bowman. "We've been training really hard. We trained before the meet, that's just part of it."

For the Sun Devil men, Liam Bresette (1:38.10), Carter Swift (1:38.21) and Cody Bybee (1:38.85) finished one-two-three in the 200 free.

Evan Carlson notched two wins on the day, taking first in the 50 free and the 100 fly. The men took the podium in the 50 free as Swift and Ethan Luc finished behind Carlson.

Zach Poti took first in the 100 back, finishing in 48.71.

In the diving pool, reigning Pac-12 Champion Youssef Selim took first in both the 3M and the 1M dives.

Carter Swift and Liam Bresette took first and third respectively in the 100 free.

ASU took the top two spots in the 200 free relay, as the A team of Swift-Carlson-Bybee-Jack Dolan came in first at 1:19.46, followed closely by the B team of Khalil Fonder-Bresette-Poti-Luc at 1:21.79.

Newcomer Julian Hill won the 500 free with a time of 4:29.36.

"He had the swim of the meet by far," said Bowman. "That's the best swim he's had this year, and he really stepped up, and that helped us get to where we could fairly comfortably win the meet."

In the 1000 free, Emma Nordin (10:08.87) and Claire Nguyen (10:10.72) took the top two spots respectively for the Sun Devils. Erica Laning and Cierra Runge took the top two in the 200 free, and Nordin and Laning finished top two again for the Sun Devils in the 500 free.

Carmryn Curry took first in the 50 free, finishing in 23.06, and Chloe Isleta notched her first win of the afternoon in the 200 back.

Runge, Curry and Laning swept the podium in the 100 free.

The ASU A team of Curry-Natalia Fryckowska-Runge-Laning took first in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:32:84 to close out the women's competition.
