No. 19 @SunDevilBeachVB Drops Two Straight To Ranked TeamsNo. 19 @SunDevilBeachVB Drops Two Straight To Ranked Teams
STANFORD, Calif. – Playing ranked competition for the first time this season, No. 19 Arizona State beach volleyball dropped both of its matches on Saturday, falling 5-0 to No. 5 Hawai'i and 4-1 to No. 20 Stanford.

Arizona State (2-2, 0-1 Pac-12) dropped its first matches against ranked teams this season, falling to Hawai'i (5-2) and Stanford (2-5). All of ASU's pairs played straight sets except for the twos and fives against Stanford, dropping both of those. As a team, the Sun Devil pairs are 2-2 in three-set matches this season.

The bright spot for the Sand Devils was Kate Baldwin and Lexi Sweeney. The pair battled close against the Rainbow Warriors and then won their match against the Cardinal for the Sun Devils' only point of the day. That pair is 3-1 so far in 2020.

Game One – Hawai'i 5, Arizona State 0
The Sun Devils had a tough start to their weekend, opening up with a top-five team in the Rainbow Warriors. Most of the first sets battled close, particularly Baldwin and Sweeney on court four, losing by just two points. But the second sets were smooth sailing for Hawai'i, taking all five courts in straight sets to win.
