"I'm pretty please overall. We put a lot of routines out there and gave a lot of girls the chance to compete. Some of the nerves showed up later in the meet. I don't know if that's just more preparation needed as we get closer to the season or what. We definitely have things to clean up, but we have a lot to build on and with what we didn't tonight, I'm really pleased. It was a good step for us. We have a month to go, and this was a great chance for us to see what we need to work on."
The Gold Team took the lead right away after the first rotation. Three on that squad scored a 9.800 or better on vault: Ginn, Reeves and Wilson, with the latter two each scoring a 9.825. Leonard-Baker shone for the Maroon Team on bars with a 9.850, the score which would earn her the title.
Rotation Two: Gold on bar, 29.400 | Maroon on vault, 29.375
Gold continued to put up solid numbers in the second rotation. On bars, Boyer led the way with a 9.825, followed by Wilson's 9.800. Leonard-Baker was a bright spot for Maroon again after sticking her vault for a 9.900.
Rotation Three: Gold on beam, 29.350 | Maroon on floor, 29.150
Leonard-Baker earned the highest mark of the meet with a 9.925 for her floor routine for the Maroon Team. Led by Reeves' 9.800, beam was solid for Gold, with the two other counted scores being 9.775s from Boyer and Wilson.
Rotation Four: Gold on floor, 29.050 | Maroon on beam, 29.400
