TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State volleyball falls to 2-2 in Pac-12 play after dropping the match to No. 20 Utah in three sets (25-16, 25-22, 25-20) at Wells Fargo Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Notable Stats
Arizona State head coach Sanja Tomasevic
"We didn't play well, we didn't take an opportunity to do our job against a team that didn't have two of their starters. We definitely wasted an opportunity to get a win that would help us with postseason play. The biggest reason why ASU lost was because of ASU. That's not taking anything away from anyone on the other side of the net. ASU did not do their job today. We did not do our job today. I'm going to ask my team to step it up and invest themselves 100 percent."
Set One: Utah 25, Arizona State 16
The first half of the set was close, the teams trading points. A kill from Beedie tied it at 9-9, but then Utah went on a 4-1 run to go up 13-10. The Utes would not let up, dominating the set to win 25-16. ASU had just seven kills to Utah's 20 in the opening frame.

Utah kept the momentum from the first set to start the second, going up 4-1 early. However, ASU started chipping away at the lead. A few errors from the Utes made it a one-point game at 9-8. A 4-0 run for the Sun Devils, highlighted by two kills from Jada Burse, gave them the 16-14 lead. The Utes took back the lead after scoring three in a row, going up 22-21.
