TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State gymnastics head coach Jay Santos has announced the 2020 schedule, which will have six home meets and six opponents who made it to the 2019 NCAA National Championships.

"We are very excited to announce our 2020 schedule," Santos said. "We are facing by far the most competitive schedule we have seen in several years, and we are really eager to see some of the best teams in the country, including all four of the teams that made the NCAA Gymnastics Championship finals."

The 2020 schedule looks to be challenging as it features 11 teams that finished the 2019 season ranked in the top 25, including six teams that finished in the top 10. Four of those top-25 teams will make their way to Desert Financial Arena this season: 2019 National Champion Oklahoma, 2019 Pac-12 Champion UCLA Cal and Washington.

"Our home schedule is fantastic and we are honored to kick it off by hosting the defending NCAA Champions, the University of Oklahoma." Santos said. "Along with hosting the 2018 NCAA Champions, UCLA, in February, we have some really great opponents coming to our arena throughout the season. Sun Devil Nation is in for a treat in 2020!"

Before the first meet, fans can get their first glimpse of the 2020 squad at the Maroon and Gold Meet on December 5 at Desert Financial Arena. It will be free to the public.

Arizona State will kick off the season with a quad meet in Anaheim that will feature three other top-25 teams: Auburn, Denver and Penn State. The Pioneers advanced to the NCAA National Championship last season, finishing in fourth.

The Gym Devils will be home for two-straight weekends after starting on the road, first hosting reigning national champions Oklahoma on January 11 before UC Davis comes to town on January 17. They will close out January in Salt Lake City, going to face Utah, who finished in seventh at nationals last year.

February features three home meets and one on the road, all against Pac-12 foes. ASU starts with hosting Cal, who finished No. 11 in 2019, on February 1. A quick trip to Oregon State the next weekend will give Arizona State a good road test as the Beavers went to nationals in 2019, finishing in sixth place. LSU, the 2019 National Runner-Up, will also be at that meet. The Gym Devils will return home for back-to-back meets on February 15 and February 23 against 2018 National Champions UCLA and top-25 squad Washington, respectively.

On March 2, ASU will head to Stanford, another 2019 ranked opponent. The following weekend will be busy for the Sun Devils. Arizona State will take on in-state rival Arizona in Tucson on March 6 to battle for a Territorial Cup point. Two days later, the Gym Devils will be back in Tempe to take on Pitt. The regular season will wrap up at LSU on March 13, the second matchup of the year with the Tigers.

The postseason will kick off with the Pac-12 Championship at the Maverik Center in Utah on March 21.

"We have a big challenge ahead of us," Santos said. "But our 2020 squad is extremely motivated to step up and show that we are capable of competing at a high level."

Season tickets are now available and can be purchased on the ASU ticket page.
