STANFORD, Calif. – With a strong performance from freshman Iman Isanovic, Arizona State volleyball gave No. 2 Stanford a fight, but fell in straight sets (25-18, 25-21, 25-22) at Maples Pavilion on Sunday afternoon.

The Sun Devils stuck with the Cardinal to start the first set. A tool from Mitrovic got her team within one, down 8-7. However, Stanford went on a 5-0 run to extend its lead to 18-11 and force an ASU timeout. Ivana Jeremic's kill and Megan Beedie's block gave Arizona State two in a row to make it an 18-13 deficit. Mitrovic powered the ball through the block to hold off the first set point, but a service error finished the set for Stanford, 25-18.
Set Two: Stanford 25, Arizona State 21
Freshman Kennedi Boyd came off the bench after sitting out the first set and made an immediate impact, killing the ball on the first rally. The first half of the set was close, neither team able to go on a run. A stuff block from Boyd got the Sun Devils within one, down 11-10. The Cardinal scored four in a row to create space and make it 20-14. ASU put together a 3-0 run late in the set, but Stanford completed the win, taking the set 25-21.
Set Three: Stanford 25, Arizona State 22
Like the first two sets, ASU kept it close for the first half, tying it up five different times. Isanovic had four kills early on to keep her team in it, including one down the line to make it an 11-9 deficit. Stanford scored three-straight points to push their lead to 15-10. The Sun Devils battled back, going on a 5-2 run late in the set, two points coming with match point on the line. Ultimately, the reigning NCAA champions came away with the 25-22 win and the sweep.

- ASU is now 10-7 on the year, 2-4 in Pac-12 play. Stanford (11-3, 5-1 Pac-12) hit .398 in the win, not much higher than Arizona State's .317.
- The Sun Devils' .317 clip is the third-highest hitting percentage for the Sun Devils this season, behind .330 against Arizona and .321 at UNLV.
- Isanovic recorded a new career high in kills with 13, surpassing her previous high of 11 she earned at Louisville. Her kills were also a match-high among all players.
- Isanovic also hit a career-best .462, killing 13 of 26 with just one error. Her previous career best clip was .455 against Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
- Setters Callie Jones and Noa Miller split the duties evenly, earning 21 and 20 assists, respectively. For Miller, that number is a new career high as a Sun Devil.
