TEMPE, Ariz. – As announced by the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA), five from the three-time reigning national champion Sun Devil Triathlon have been named Scholar All-Americans and four additional received Honorable Mention (among an 11-woman roster).
 
Audrey Ernst, Charlotte Ahrens, Katie Gorczyca, Kyla Roy, and Kira Stanley have been named CTCA Scholar All-Americans for the 2018 season. Four additional Sun Devils have received Honorable Mention Scholar All-American status – Cat Giuseffi, Kenzi Wilson, Olivia Jenks, and Sarah Quintero.
 
Scholar All-American honors are awarded to those who compete in the National Championship and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or better through the fall competition season. Honorable Mention All-American honors are awarded to those who compete in a regional championship (only) and had a 3.5 or better GPA in fall 2018.
 
As a team, the Sun Devils narrowly finished second in team GPA's (not divisionally separated) with a 3.818 for the fall semester, just .02 points behind the top finisher.
 
The top three finishers (by division) in the national championship also earned All-American status in individual national champion Hannah Henry, second-place finisher Charlotte Ahrens, and third-place finisher Katie Gorczyca. Overall, ASU finished first through fifth in order while all seven Sun Devils finished in the top-10 at November's national championship.
 
The Sun Devils will look for the fourth consecutive national championship in fall 2019.
