DENTON, Texas – Behind senior
Anne Kuhm's consistency, No. 13 Arizona State gymnastics beat out Texas Woman's University, 195.675 to 193.550, in Texas on Saturday night.

"I'm happy with the performance tonight," Arizona State head coach
Jay Santos said. "We definitely showed improvement in multiple areas and overall put together a better meet on the road. We didn't have any falls today and we were able to keep our energy up and build some momentum throughout the meet."

The Gym Devils (3-1) earned their best score so far this season with a 195.675. All four event totals were also season bests, including the year's first 49.000-plus with a 49.050 on floor.

Kuhm took second in the all-around with a score of 39.175 after earning season-best scores in each event. Her 9.850 on vault tied for the best of the night and she did not score below a 9.725 in any event.
Cairo Leonard-Baker took first in bars with a 9.850 and tied for first on floor with a 9.875. Â

Rotation One – Bars | 48.975
Leonard-Baker earned the highest score on bars for ASU with a 9.850, which was the best score in that event tonight.
Morgan Wilson and Kuhm both scored 9.825s, both of which were season bests for the two seniors, in a solid first rotation for the Sun Devils.

Rotation Two – Vault | 48.775
Kuhm earned the best vault score of the night, scoring a 9.850 in the lead-off spot for the Gym Devils. Wilson showed her steadiness with a 9.775 in the anchor spot. Â
Jessica Ginn had her season-best routine as well with a 9.725.

Rotation Three – Floor | 49.050
Floor saw the highest scores of the night for Arizona State. Leonard-Baker tied for first tonight with the Pioneers' Bria Northrop with a 9.875. Three other Gym Devils earned 9.800s or better. Both
Katelyn Lentz and Ginn earned 9.800s while
Kaitlyn Szafranski scored a 9.850.

Rotation Four – Beam | 48.875
On the final rotation,
Justine Callis earned the best marks, scoring a 9.800. There were three 9.775s, first from Kuhm, then from
Ashley Szafranski and
Heather Udowitch.

Arizona State will face the first Pac-12 foe of the season on January 21 when the Gym Devils take on the UCLA Bruins in Los Angeles. Â
"We have a big week coming up as we start our Pac-12 scheduling with UCLA next Monday," Santos said. "There are still quite a few details we can improve upon. I know this team is capable of performing at a higher level, and we need to keep pushing ourselves to improve."
