TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State softball head coach Trisha Ford announced the addition of left-handed pitcher Madison Preston to the Sun Devil roster for the 2020 season Monday afternoon.
"We are excited to have Madison join the Sun Devil family," Ford said of the addition of Preston. "She has competed at a very high level and has the drive to be a very special player."
In her two seasons with Alabama, Preston has amassed a 7-5 record in her nearly 88 innings of work. During the 2018 season, Preston pitched 75 innings where she struck out 46 batters while finishing the year with a 3.17 ERA.
Last season, Preston saw action in eight outings, mostly as a reliever. In her 12 innings pitched, the lefty gave up just 16 hits while striking out 14.
Preston will join a group of experienced Sun Devil arms, with all four pitchers on last season's roster returning in 2020.
