Rob Edwards hit a huge three to lead ASU to its first win over No. 1 at home in school history when it beat Kansas on Dec. 22, 2018.

Note: Listed below are the biggest wins of the Sun Devil Athletic teams in the 2018-19 season, based on wins over the highest ranked teams and individuals at the time of the game.)

BASEBALL OVER NO. 1 UCLA (MAY 5, 2019)
Rallying behind the strength of three home runs, the No. 16 Arizona State baseball team came back from a three-run deficit to defeat No. 1 UCLA, 8-7, at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. After a grand slam from junior Hunter Bishop in the bottom of the first, the Sun Devils surrendered seven runs before finally answering back on a solo shot from sophomore Gage Workman in the bottom of the sixth. On the mound, Blaze Burzell was terrific in three innings of relief as the freshman did not allow a run, setting up the opportunity for a memorable comeback. In the bottom of the eighth, sophomore Spencer Torkelson started things off with a line-drive home run over the center field fence. With the big fly, Torkelson has now homered in every Pac-12 series this year. Workman would follow Torkelson's long ball with a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 7 before junior Carter Aldrete drove in the game-winning run on a single into right-center field. The win helped ASU salvage the series finale and marked the team's 33rd overall victory of the season, moving the Sun Devils to 14-10 in conference play.

MEN'S BASKETBALL BEATS NO. 1 KANSAS (DEC. 22, 2018)
For the second consecutive year, the Sun Devil men's basketball team defeated the Kansas Jayhawks, who were the No. 1 ranked team in the country this time around. Behind the second-largest crowd in program history, ASU was able to notch its first victory over a No. 1 team in Tempe, storming back to regain the lead with only two minutes left before finishing off the 80-76 win. The upset was the result of a total team effort, with five Sun Devils reaching double figures. Junior Rob Edwards would lead the way with 15 points and four rebounds, while senior Zylan Cheatham added 13 points and 11 rebounds en route to a double-double. With the win, Arizona State completed its 17th come-from-behind victory under head coach Bobby Hurley.

MEN'S GOLF WINS THUNDERBIRD COLLEGIATE OVER NO. 1 OKLAHOMA STATE (APR. 12-13, 2019)
Sun Devil men's golf finished up hosting the 47th annual Thunderbird Collegiate with both a team and individual victory, which marks the third consecutive year the Sun Devils have won the tournament and the first time at their new home at Papago Golf Course. This was also ASU's third tournament win in a row, the first time the program has achieved this feat since 2014-2015. Junior Chun An Yu would finish 12-under 201 in addition to the team finishing 20-under 832. With victories over No. 1 ranked Oklahoma State and No. 7 Texas, the Sun Devils moved up to No. 2 in the Golfweek coaches poll. It also marked the 20th time ASU has won the team title as well as the 12th time a Sun Devil has won the individual medal.

NATHAN PONWITH/DOMINIK KELLVOSKY BEAT THE NO. 1 RANKED DOUBLES PAIR (MAR. 22, 2019)
After jumping out to an early lead, the No. 18 ranked pair of ASU's Nathan Ponwith and Dominik Kellvosky defeated the No. 1 ranked pair of Baylor's Sven Lah and Jimmy Bendeck at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas. The Sun Devil doubles pair would attack from the beginning of the match, climbing to a 3-1 lead before ultimately finishing off the Bears in a 6-3 victory. This would mark the tenth doubles point for Arizona State in just 16 total games at this point of the season. Showing progression in each match, the Sun Devils did not previously reach this mark until 21 games into the 2018 season.

BASEBALL BEAT NO. 3 OREGON STATE (APRIL 12, 2019)
Alec Marsh, a junior right-hander who served as the ace of the Sun Devil staff all season, dominated the defending national champion and no. 3-ranked Oregon State Beavers in a complete game masterpiece at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Registering his first career complete game as well as the first complete game of the season for an ASU pitcher, Marsh was effective from start to finish as he shook off a second-inning solo homerun to retire 22 consecutive batters. With the win, Marsh moved to a team high 8-1 on the season. For the offense, every Sun Devil starter recorded at least one hit in the contest, with the middle of the order doing the most damage as Carter Aldrete, Lyle Lin, and Gage Workman each notched two hits on the night. Sophomore Trevor Hauver would provide support for Marsh as the outfielder was the lone Sun Devil with multiple RBI's. Having shown extreme power throughout the year, ASU flipped the script by working the counts and relying on moving base-to-base, with 11 of the team's 12 total hits coming on singles. Additionally, the Sun Devils chased Oregon State starter Brandon Eisert after he allowed three runs in just 5.2 innings, a rare occassion since Eisert came into the game having given up only three runs all season. ASU also drew three walks against the southpaw, despite him entering the game having allowed just five all year. The victory moved the Sun Devils to 10-3 in Pac-12 play.

BASEBALL BEAT NO. 3 STANFORD (MAY 23, 2019)
Heading into the bottom of the ninth inning trailing by three runs, the Sun Devil baseball team completed one of their most frantic comebacks of the year as ASU stormed from behind to defeat No. 3 Stanford by a final score of 6-5. For eight innings, Arizona State was recording the hits, but the runs weren't there to show for it. After Stanford brought in All-American closer Jack Little in the top of the ninth, the Sun Devils ripped off four straight hits to put ASU within one run of their nationally-ranked opponents. Then, an unlikely pair of heroes took over. Cole Austin, a redshirt junior who missed the entirety of the 2018 season due to NCAA transfer regulations and well over half of the 2019 season following offseason back surgery, hit a game-tying sacrifice fly in his first career game at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. This would put the winning run at third base for junior Myles Denson, who then drove home the game-winner on his first walk-off as a Sun Devil. Recording their 31st overall victory of the season and 16th in conference play, ASU showed off their skill with the bats as nine different players notched at least one hit in the contest.

HOCKEY BEAT NO. 6 PENN STATE (NOV. 3, 2018)
The Sun Devil Men's Hockey took another significant step in the history of the program as they knocked off No. 6 Penn State in overtime, 4-3, at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pennsylvania. With the victory, ASU notched their first ever win over a top-10 program as well as their first road win over a ranked opponent. Coming into the game as the nation's leading point scorer, sophomore forward Johnny Walker netted the game-winner on a breakaway just over a minute into overtime for his second goal of the game. In the cage, goaltender Joey Daccord showed flashes of brilliance, finishing with 40 saves in his biggest victory as a Sun Devil. Freshman P.J. Marrocco and redshirt senior Dylan Hollman would also score for Arizona State.

Utility player Amira Van Buren and attacker P.J. Allin also scored in the Sun Devil's first win over a top-10 opponent this season. Sophomore Belen Ehinger was stellar in the cage, racking up 10 saves as the Sun Devils notched their sixth victory over a top-25 program. In the first half, goals from Maud Koopman, Amira Van Buren, and Bente Rogge would put ASU up 3-0 early on, with the Sun Devils leading 5-2 at halftime. After a tough battle in the third quarter, ASU increased their lead in the fourth and never looked back after goals from seniors P.J. Allin and Julia Reyes. The Sun Devils were victorious by a score of 9-6 to open play at UC Irvine's Barbara Kalbus Invitational, marking the seventh time Arizona State had defeated a ranked team during the 2019 season.

After topping Oregon State in an overtime thriller in Corvallis earlier this year, the No. 21 Sun Devil women's basketball team earned the season sweep over the No. 9 ranked Beavers, 66-54, at Wells Fargo Arena. Led by senior Kiana Ibis' game-high 20 points, ASU took over the game with a 24-3 run that stretched from the final 4:38 of the first half into the first 5 minutes of the third quarter. Following Ibis' lead, fellow senior Charnea Johnson Chapman helped the Sun Devils knock off OSU by tallying six points, 12 rebounds, and a career-high four assists. Reili Richardson, who came into the game No. 3 in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio, dished out seven assists with zero turnovers to go with eight points and three steals. Off the bench, freshman Iris Mbulito provided a huge spark, scoring eight of her 10 points in the first half. This victory marked the third win of the season over a ranked opponent for coach Charlie Turner Thorne and company.

In the final game of the Sun Devil Classic, junior Samantha Mejia picked up her eighth win on the season while freshman Abby Andersen recorded her first save of the year. At the plate, right fielder Kindra Hackbarth shined with two hits, four RBI's and three runs scored, which included a first-inning homerun to get ASU's offense rolling. Senior Morgan Howe would also deliver for the Sun Devils, knocking in three runs on a fourth inning double that would put away the Longhorns for good. The win marked the first victory over a top-10 opponent during the 2019 season.

With an intense three-set win on court two to clinch it, No. 6 seed Arizona State beach volleyball upset No. 3 seed Cal 3-2 in the opening round of the Pac-12 Championships at Merle Norman Stadium. The Sun Devils picked a great time to earn their third win over a top-20 team this year to advance to the next round of the conference championship, with the Bears being ranked No. 11 in the AVCA poll at the time. With the dual tied 2-2, it all came down to the match on court two. Katelyn Carballo and Katie Cross won the first set, but their opponents came back to take the second. The third set was back and forth until the Sand Devils started to pull away, winning 15-12 on a kill from Cross. The Sand Devils also won on courts one and four, both in two sets.

Sun Devil men's tennis registered their first win over a top-25 program since its revival in 2018 as ASU upset No. 13 Michigan in comeback fashion. After falling behind 2-0 through doubles play and the first matchup of singles, the Sun Devils quickly put the puzzle pieces together to rally back and defeat the Wolverines, 4-2. Justin Roberts collected the first point of the match with a 7-6 (3) and 7-6 (2) victory before Tim Ruehl and Dominik Kellovsky notched two more wins to put the Sun Devils ahead 3-2. Needing just one more point need to clinch the upset, No. 74 Nathan Ponwith ousted No. 37 Mattias Siimar to close out the ASU victory. FOOTBALL BEAT NO. 15 MICHIGAN STATE (SEPT. 8, 2018)
Arizona State kicked off the Herm Edwards era with a blowout of UTSA. One week later it rallied from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter against the nation's No. 15 team. Brandon Ruiz kicked a 28-yard field goal as time expired and the Sun Devils notched a marquee win early in Edwards' tenure, knocking off No. 15 Michigan State 16-13. The Sun Devils never flinched, relying on their defense to keep the game close before scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter. Manny Wilkins found N'Keal Harry on a 27-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter and orchestrated the drive to set up Ruiz's winning kick, finishing with 380 yards passing as Arizona State moved to 10-0 against Big Ten teams in Tempe.

FOOTBALL BEAT NO. 15 UTAH (NOV. 3, 2018)
In one of their best offensive performances of the season, ASU football punctuated yet another upset at Sun Devil Stadium as three N'Keal Harry touchdowns proved to be enough in a 38-20 victory over No. 16 Utah. The third year receiver out of Chandler had one of his most memorable games as a Sun Devil, tallying 161 yards on nine receptions while scoring a trio of touchdowns in three of the four quarters. By the end of the contest, Harry had moved into third place all-time on ASU's career reception list. Sophomore running back Eno Benjamin would join the party as well, rushing for 175 total yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries. By going over 100 yards for the sixth time during the 2018 season, Benjamin eclipsed 1,000 years in just his second year in Tempe. Under center, senior quarterback Manny Wilkins led the Sun Devil attack by posting 285 passing yards and three touchdowns, while also adding 24 yards on the ground. On the defensive side, freshman Merlin Robertson was a force to be reckoned with, totaling nine tackles and adding an interception in the win. Junior Kobe Williams and freshman Aashari Crosswell also tracked down interceptions as ASU notched their fifth victory of the season on homecoming weekend.
